I didn’t want to do this, but I’ve gotten a flood of comments spam the last day and I’m sick of having to do a full rebuild each time I delete them. So I’m going to change the comments policy.
If you are registered with TypeKey and are signed in, you will be allowed to comment without restrictions. I don’t own stock in SixApart or something, but this is just the best way I’ve found to do this.
If you prefer not to register, you will still be allowed to comment. However, your comments will not appear until I’ve approved them. That depends upon me checking. Hopefully, delays should never be more than an hour, but if I’m asleep or incommunicado it’s obviously going to be longer than that.
This all assumes I’ve set things up right, of course… If you have concerns or are having problems with comments, email me at mac(at)warliberal(dot)com.
Checking to make sure I got it right…
just checking to see if my registration worked
Check…one, two. Seeing if it works.
Check… uhh four.
Seems to work for me.
Does this work?
Yes. -MT
Is it working?
Well, I got your comment and approved it. If you meant to use registration, then no.
test.
Yarr it work?
yes … test … OK, good
Testing this out…
Mac, if users register once, then then it works on all sites, correct? Similar readers won’t have to re-register on my site?
It should work on all sites that have TypeKey enabled. So not only yours and mine, but anywhere — though I don’t know how many have actually adopted it yet.
I am trying to see if typing in my URL will hide my e-mail address.
Mac, can you delete the two comments I made that have a link to my e-mail address (my e-mail account is spam free, and I want it to stay that way).
I will. That shouldn’t happen, as I understand it.
Okay, everyone… You should probably put a URL in your information whether you have one or not. If you don’t, you can use this one.
AP, there’s a box in your TypeKey profile that will allow you to not send your address to the website owner. That should solve the problem; I don’t require an email from TypeKey users.
I just accidentally erased someone’s comment, I’m afraid. Whoever it was, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.
Check.
Comment.
