Alive since 1956. Braves fan since 1966. The first ten years were pretty much wasted. Exiled to Yankees/Mets territory in 1974 --- bearable only with TBS followed by MLB.TV.
Murphy, in addition to being perfect on ABS challenges and doing a good job running the bases yesterday, seemed pretty locked in at the plate — he was 2-4 with a double and a walk, and all but one of his PAs were competitive. Absolutely ridiculous that he’s not starting. He should be behind the plate with Drake at DH.
What’s the plan for Kerr? Ideally he gets through the 1st unscathed. And then…bring in Holmes in the 2nd? Let Kerr go 1 time through the order, depending on how he’s doing?
Edit to respond to Stephen – completely agree. And I don’t even like Murphy.

Murph had a really good game yesterday, and I’m worried that starting Smith has the feel of the same kind of too-clever-by-half overfocus on matchups that led Weiss to bring Lee in to face Schwarber and Harper. However, I’m pretty positive that we’ll see Murphy enter the game. I’d be shocked if Smith gets more than two or three plate appearances.
No one could accuse Weiss this year of undermanaging, and, with the exception of yesterday (“and how was the rest of the play, Mrs. Lincoln”) it has worked out. I’m sticking with Walt, with the fan’s prerogative to change my mind.

Answer: Dom Smith hitting in the DH slot in a “win or go home” playoff game.
Question: How do you know the Braves didn’t do what needed to be done at the trading deadline?
maybe Dom goes and hits a homer…i’ll gladly wear egg on my face for a few days
