Well, even if they let the pitching staff collapse, the Braves have shored up their broadcasting team.
Reports are that the Phillies have offered Tom Glavine a large contract, something on the order of his last deal with the Braves — multiple years at $10 million or more. I don’t believe that the Braves will even consider matching that. There is also a report in New York Newsday that the Braves are again asking about Montreal’s Javier Vasquez. I like Vasquez, but he had a bad, and injury-plagued, season last year.
Vasquez is the way to go. A young, cheap pitcher who has number one stuff.
