Atlanta sends Uncle Charlie Morton to the hill tonight in Chavez Ravine as the Braves take on the Dodgers in the first of a three game set.

I am personally hoping to see this look from old friend, Freddie Freeman. Freeman watched Ronald Acuña‘s solidify his MVP season in LA last summer. Thus far, Ronnie, Austin Riley, and Matt Olson have been a chilly as a December evening in Alaska. Each seemed to get a little something going on Wednesday in Seattle, just in time for an off-day.
In five starts, Morton is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.133 WHIP. He is coming off two great starts. In his last time out, Uncle Charlie worked seven scoreless innings against the best team in the AL. His previous start saw him work six innings of two-run ball in a win over Texas.
20-win teams square off
The Braves continue their run against fellow division leaders, this time in LA. The Braves take on the Dodgers at 10:10 ET/9:10CT. Gavin Stone gets the ball for the Dodgers. He is 2-1 with a 4.68 ERA thus far. Atlanta has the best record at 20-9 while LA leads the west with a 20-13 mark.
Mookie Betts is off to a great start, slashing .377/.481/1.104. Shohei Ohtani is no slouch in the two-hole, also off to a good start. We’re not sure if he will be placing any bets or not, but his slash line of .336/.368/1.017 is worth a wager or two. Hopefully Charlie keeps the ball in the yard, doesn’t hit anyone with that back-foot bender, and the Braves pound sand and Stone in Chavez Ravine.
Let’s chat it up tonight.

Austin – sweet!
Jarred Kelenic, terrific throw. That was phenomenal!
First place was fun while it lasted. These pitching matchups likely assure that this series will not go very well.
Its just 2-1, but I don’t have the patience to keep watching at this hour….this offense is still frustrating to watch.
This team with Freeman and Contreras instead of Olson and whatever that guy’s name is who hasn’t played since the first game, would be quite a bit better than the current product.
(Assuming someone could’ve gotten Contreras better at defense)
Bummer in a 1-run game after an off-day is certainly a choice.
RONNIE!
Matt Olson, what would you say you do here?
Well, Orlando got us the slender advantage. Let’s go, Raisel!
Acuña’s slapdash work on the base paths in the first cost a run, and that was it.
Acuna’s failure to advance the runner in the 11th didn’t help either. Can’t win them all but our inability to manufacture runs in these situations hurts.
