Any ideas how the Hawks will screw up the draft this year? My money is on Conley at #3 (which seems like an incredible over-draft) and perhaps Al Thornton at #11.
I remember when we got the #2 pick – there was a girl at my company who went to Wake, and I taunted her mercilessly about how good Chris Paul would look in a Hawks uni. Unfortunately, Billy Knight is a retard.
Hey, Wright can hang out with Marvin Williams and start the guys-who-came-out-of-UNC-after-one-year-in-which-they-weren’t-even-all-that-good Club. Actually, I’m not convinced that Williams and Wright aren’t the same person.
I haven’t written up Joey Devine yet, on my new rule that guys called up from the minors don’t get written up until they actually play. Anyway, I think that he needs a new name. Either Joe Devine, Joseph Devine, or as one site has it “Joey N. Devine”.
It was inevitable; Delgado has turned into Mo Vaughn. Which too was inevitable. I hate to say I told them so, but I told them so.

Hawks idiot-in-chief Billy Knight has repeatedly said that it is his philosophy to take the “best available player,” so unless he’s come to the realization that this is a retarded philosophy, I fully expect to see Brandan Wright.
Of course, this philosophy only seems to extend to who the media thinks is the best player, not who actually is, as Chris Paul was pretty clearly the best player a couple years ago, but since everyone and their mother thought it was Williams for some reason, that’s who Knight picked.
So there is some hope…if Conley’s stock rises in the national media, perhaps this could work out alright, after all. I doubt it, though.
But I’ve long since stopped caring about the Hawks. The Hawks’ ineptitude has made the NBA in general the only major pro or college sport that I don’t follow. Yes, I follow hockey more than I do the NBA. Hell, I follow international soccer more than I do the NBA.

Right on the money here. This is so easy if you are the Hawks, Horford at three, Law at 11. Done and done. Of course they will over think it and screw it up, but it should be easy.
He’s not a good fit for the Hawks but I love Jeff Green. He’s got a lot of Paul Pierce in him, the Clippers should be burning up the phone lines to position themselves to get him.
The real drama of the draft will be finding out who has the courage/stupidity to take the Chinese guy.
It’s a compression of the ulnar nerve. The nerve is in your arm and provides sensation to some of the fingers and controls some of muscles in the hand.
It manifests itself as a loss of sensation or tingling in the hand and fingers and a general aching feeling in the elbow. Obviously pitching a baseball is not good for it.

will someone please go back and dig up a top 10 actual worst lineups Bobby has ever fielded for no apparent reason? I don’t want bad lineups mandated by having only crappy players, I want to see the lineups that yielded the largest skill gap between what the best lineup could have been, and what we actually got.
I’d suggest going to Retrosheet and browsing Sunday lineups, plus the second games of double-headers. Look for one-day gaps in Chipper’s gamelogs before he moved to the OF.
That’s what I say: Our best lineup sucked against Perez, maybe our so-so lineup will rule.
Stu

Didn’t KJ homer off of Perez in his first start against us this year?
As far as the Hawks are concerned, I’m just thankful Hibbert is staying in school–there was no way the Hawks weren’t nabbing him at #11.
I’d probably draft Conley and try to trade the #11 pick, but I suppose they could—and will—do a lot worse than Horford and Law.

The only thing I can figure is he wants his only bench player with siginifant Major League experience to get some at-bats. Or, the other seniaro is he put him in the line-up and is thinking “I’ll give him one more chance, if he sucks, I am going to cut him so fast he is going to wish he was Langerhans.”
When Craig Wilson was released, I believe that Bobby said that Chris Woodward was going to start at first base as well. As I’m sure that we’re all aware of, Cox does not trust his rookies with a full-time job in most circumstnces. Plus, he believes in getting veterans at-bats so they’ll get in some work. But what is there to fret about? If Woodward goes into a Craig Wilson-type funk, he’ll be released. Because it’s happening this year, who says that it won’t happen again?
Stu
on May 23, 2007 at 5:21 pm
But what is there to fret about?
Um, Woodward’s performance in this game. You’re aware that individual games count in the standings, right? Releasing Woodward 2 weeks from now won’t erase losses that might have been avoided by playing someone with Major League hitting ability.

Robert

will someone please go back and dig up a top 10 actual worst lineups Bobby has ever fielded for no apparent reason?
I like this one. The Reds start lefty John Smiley, so Bobby pulls Justice, Pendelton, and Klesko in favor of Dave Gallagher, Bill Pecota and someone named Jarvis Brown who I don’t even remember. Yielding this beauty:
1. Brown RF
2. Blauser SS
3. R. Kelly CF
4. McGriff 1B
5. Lopez C
6. Pecota 3B
7. Gallagher LF
8. Lemke 2B
9. Glavine P
I think Justice was probably hurt, because Tarasco started in right the day before, and Dave left mid-game the day before that. TP was hurt as well, Pecota was playing regularly that week. That doesn’t excuse Gallagher, but nothing excused the use of Gallacher that year.
Oh, but they’re not full days off, because he keeps having to come in to pinch-hit or pinch-run, because the team’s down late. Funny how that works.
Kyle B.
on May 23, 2007 at 5:40 pm
I guess the contradiction to me is apparent:
The platoon players have to “prove” they can hit the right/left handed pitchers that are their “weakness,” but if you aren’t given the opportunity how can you prove anything?
Harris is a solid contributor, but if Diaz hasn’t proven he can flat out hit, Bobby Cox has overcoached himself.

I think the third inning when James had to run the bases the whole inning really tired him. He hasn’t been right since. He has some serious fatigue issues.
Carlyle tabbed for Saturday: Before Wednesday night’s game, Cox said that Buddy Carlyle will be promoted from Triple-A Richmond in time to make Saturday’s start against the Phillies. Carlyle will be assuming the rotation spot that was vacated this week when Anthony Lerew went to the disabled list and Mark Redman was released.
Carlyle, who made each of his seven career Major League starts for the Padres in 1999,impressed Cox while posting a 1.69 ERA in Spring Training. In nine starts with Richmond, the 29 year-old right-hander has gone 5-2 with a 2.59 ERA. Opponents are hitting .225 against him.

I tried all last year asking serious, articulate baseball questions and never got picked to me on air.

This is immediately his most retarded lineup of the year, and maybe his worst that I’ve ever seen (not forced by injury, that is).
Chris Reitsna was placed on DL with
Ulnar Neuritis lasy year
That’s great stuff!!! I actually think that Bobby figures what the heck. My best lineup can’t hit Perez, lets see what my AAA lineup can go. I bet tear up Perez tonite and Woodward goes 4-5 with 2 hrs and a double.
Well previous lineups Bobby tried didn’t work vs Perez. Maybe this one is crazy enough to score some runs.
will someone please go back and dig up a top 10 actual worst lineups Bobby has ever fielded for no apparent reason? I don’t want bad lineups mandated by having only crappy players, I want to see the lineups that yielded the largest skill gap between what the best lineup could have been, and what we actually got.
I’d suggest going to Retrosheet and browsing Sunday lineups, plus the second games of double-headers. Look for one-day gaps in Chipper’s gamelogs before he moved to the OF.
That’s what I say: Our best lineup sucked against Perez, maybe our so-so lineup will rule.
What’s the point of putting out your best people if they’re just going to lose?
By the way, whichever franchise drafts Derrick Byars will instantly become my favorite NBA team, at least until Billy Knight is fired.
Oh, and check any lineup in which Belliard started and hit higher than eighth.
CourtneyC,
When Craig Wilson was released, I believe that Bobby said that Chris Woodward was going to start at first base as well.
But what is there to fret about?
Um, Woodward’s performance in this game. You’re aware that individual games count in the standings, right? Releasing Woodward 2 weeks from now won’t erase losses that might have been avoided by playing someone with Major League hitting ability.
so now Kelly is in a platoon and we release Wilson just to let Woodward play more. I thought about watching the game, but now I almost would rather not
I wish the Lost season finale came on earlier—as it is, I’ll probably have to watch the Braves, especially since my grandparents’ house in Nashville (where I’m staying) does not get the SEC tournament broadcast.
Speaking of Reitsma, I see on Yahoo! that the Mariners just put him on the DL with elbow inflammation. Thank God we got rid of him this offseason.
I’d say Orr or Paranto should go up on the “must be destroyed” board next.
Well, if this lovable band of ragtag misfits manages to win tonight, it’ll be the feel-good game of the year. Maybe they’ll play their way right into our hearts.
Well, we can say for sure now that Bobby has Perez on his fantasy team…
Either that, or he has some weird bet going on with Paul LoDuca..
will someone please go back and dig up a top 10 actual worst lineups Bobby has ever fielded for no apparent reason?
I like this one. The Reds start lefty John Smiley, so Bobby pulls Justice, Pendelton, and Klesko in favor of Dave Gallagher, Bill Pecota and someone named Jarvis Brown who I don’t even remember. Yielding this beauty:
1. Brown RF
2. Blauser SS
3. R. Kelly CF
4. McGriff 1B
5. Lopez C
6. Pecota 3B
7. Gallagher LF
8. Lemke 2B
9. Glavine P
The Braves lost 16-0. link
I came here just to comment on the absurd joke that is tonight’s line-up, but I see that’s already been taken care of. Carry on.
I think Justice was probably hurt, because Tarasco started in right the day before, and Dave left mid-game the day before that. TP was hurt as well, Pecota was playing regularly that week. That doesn’t excuse Gallagher, but nothing excused the use of Gallacher that year.
That’s a beauty Robert…
How super pissed is Thorman?
He bombs one last night and now has to platoon with Woodward.
KJ is getting a raw deal with Prado as well. Is that three off days in the last week for Kage?
Stu,
I refuse to play that game anymore. I’m done. Bobby refuses to let people start full-time anymore. We have to live with that.
Oh, but they’re not full days off, because he keeps having to come in to pinch-hit or pinch-run, because the team’s down late. Funny how that works.
Here’s a pretty bad lineup from May 25th 2001:
Q Veras 2B
R Furcal SS
A Jones CF
B Jordan RF
D Martinez LF
W Helms 3B
R Bronga 1B
P Bako C
They could have been. The both started the next day so that was as far as I took it.
Here’s an idea… if KJ has to sit, why not use Harris at second base? Hell, use him at first, he can’t possibly be worse than Woodhead. If I do go back to the -must be destroyed formulation, it’s him.
I must have ignored the Bronga era
I must have ignored the Bronga era
It didn’t last that long… of course later that year it became the Ken Caminiti era…
LatNam, I hate to tell you, but other than Chipper that’s pretty much the Braves’ normal lineup at that time, save Martinez for Sanders which was an upgrade.
Woodward must have some dirt on Bobby. There is no other reason that he should have played every infield position (except battery) by May 23rd.
If the Braves lose today, it’ll be Woodward delenda est if he does bad. But hey, whatever makes you feel better.
I don’t have anything personal against Orr/Woodward, but when more talented baseball players are on the bench, it’s truly frustrating.
Wasted talent.
Kyle, I think we call this the “Marcus Giles treatment.” At least Thorman gets to stay in Atlanta.
Yunel Escobar can be excused for rooting for the steM just this once. A golden sombrero from Woodward may get him promoted.
And put me down for “Orr delenda est.” Prado has demonstrated that he can hit enough to put up with him as the last guy on the bench. Orr has demonstrated that he can’t.
Oh yeah, the memorable Jarvis Brown, he of the career .203 BA in 227 ABs. He did have that memorable power surge where he hit the only homerun of his career. Strangely enough he played 4 innings for the Twins against the Braves in the 91 WS. Looking at those lineups you really had to appreciate the pitching we had.
Oh here’s a leading candidate, if only for who hit and played 3rd: April 15, 2000.
Q Veras 2b
A Jones cf
K Lockhart 3b
A Galarraga 1b
B Bonilla lf
J Lopez c
R Sanders rf
R Furcal ss
Bobby Bo played for the Braves?
Get the F outta here.
Wait, was he on the Marlins team that won the series in ’97?
After he left Pittsburgh I lost track of him. In Little League I had his signature glove though.
LatNam, I hate to tell you, but other than Chipper that’s pretty much the Braves’ normal lineup at that time, save Martinez for Sanders which was an upgrade.
I remember… Well now that you mention it. Heh. I do remember not hating the Veras/Furcal combo at the top of the line-up, and wishing that Dave would play more often, because Sanders was so horrible.
But Bronga didn’t last long at all, ’cause he was so bad, and Helms in for Chipper and Bako for Lopez I thought was enough.
The Brogna/Bako/Helms/Veras days…. memories
Oh, and nice one there with Keith hitting # 3
Look, I know that this lineup is illogical, but I refuse to say any more than that.
I’m not getting into it. In fact, I’m going to watch the game.
Ah, yes, that was the period when Bobby set his lineup order by position. Lockhart is playing for Chipper? Lockhart hits in Chipper’s spot.
I just dont see why KJ is sitting. We have to be showing off Prado and looking for a trade. I know its the stupid lefty righty thing but its annoying
May 6, 2004:
D. Wise rf
M. DeRosa ss
A. LaRoche 1b
J. Estrada c
A. Jones cf
M. Hessman 3b
D. Hollins lf
J. Garcia 2b
M. Hampton p
This lineup was due to injuries, but it deserves a mention. I was at this game. and watched in amazement as the immortal infield of Hessman to Garcia to Laroche turned a triple play!
Ah, yes, that was the period when Bobby set his lineup order by position. Lockhart is playing for Chipper? Lockhart hits in Chipper’s spot.
Well, I mean it only makes sense. You don’t want to mess everyone else up. /sarcasm
Looking at the 2003 lineups are nice.
Furcal
Giles
Sheffield
Jones
Jones
Nice first 5.
@79. wow! that is a minor league roster with Andruw in a rehab stint. No way that was a big league roster. haha, even though injuries led to that, its a nice find.
Two more then I’m done: May 26, 2002:
Fucal SS
Lockhart 2B
Bragg RF
Jones LF
Jones CF
Castilla 3B
Helms 1B
Blanco C
And July 25 2002:
Furcal SS
Bragg LF
Sheffield RF
Jones CF
M Franco 1B
Castilla 3B
J Lopez C
K Lockhart 2B
A Lopez P
That last one merit’s a pitcher mention.
# 79 really is amazing. I mean Hampton was likely the 3rd best hitter in that lineup.. No worse than 5th.
July 25th 2002 wins by Albie Lopez pitching alone..
Woodwardy is the man! You guys need to stop hating.
Woodwardy is the man! You guys need to stop hating.
Are you related to him or something?
Chip just mentioned Hank Greenberg….
So, what’s the deal with KJ? I know he was slumping recently, but I thought he was doing well over all.
i still think bobby is betting games…or tony soprano has one of his children hostage…woody @ 1B?
You know, sometimes I wonder why I even come here.
No one’s forcing you Sam..
Yeah, I know. In fact, I think I’ll retire from here for the night. Have a good evening, ladies and gents.
Yes. Chris Woodward is my daddy.
I did some looking as well, with the best non injury lineup I could find:
Sunday, April 14, 2002
DeRosa ss,rf
A. Jones cf (hitting 2nd!!)
C. Jones lf
Sheffield rf
J. Franco 1b
Lockhart 2b
Helms 3b
Blanco c
Marquis p
If that game were played today, I would have no problem with batting Marquis fifth or sixth. I will continue the search.
Here’s another decent one as well:
Game Played on Sunday, May 29, 1994 (D) at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium
Brown cf
Blauser ss
Tarasco lf (wow, he hit third ??)
McGriff 1b
Justice rf
Pendleton 3b
Lemke 2b
O’Brien c
Glavine p
Did Chip just call himself Skip?
At least the PA man is still excited about Andruw Jones at bats.
Andruw will get hot now, won’t he?
Honestly, I’m excited about the inevitable couple of weeks of 2.000 SLG ball that Andruw is going to put up to progress back towards the mean.
Don’t. Walk. Reyes.
Never a good idea.
what was that?
I love Bobby Cox.
But he deserved that. Play KJ.
Disappointing?
Prado delenda est.
Giving Salty an error on that throw should be against the Geneva Convention
Let’s give the Mets a free run.
Prado should use that one thing…the…you know…the thingy…oh the glove on his hand
Is Skip going to walk up to the scorer’s booth and call out the official scorer like the good old days? Joe and Chip are all talk.
Just for shoots and giggles, I tried to find the first lineup Bobby ran out there in 1990 when he took over for Russ Nixon:
He took over after the 65th game I believe.
Game Played on Saturday, June 23, 1990 (N) at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium:
Atlanta Braves
McDowell cf
Treadway 2b
Gant lf
Presley 3b
Justice 1b
Murphy rf
Blauser ss
Kremers c
Glavine p
Gotta love the immortal Jimmy Presley batting cleanup.
Who is the official scorekeeper in ATL? Could he get any dumber? Freaking know nothing idiot.
Well that went well.
Sometimes, I wonder why you come here, too, Sam. You spend most of your time complaining about everyone else’s complaining. I have no idea how you manage to enjoy yourself.
Prado 1, Braves 0
“If you’re an offensive team, and you load the bases and don’t score a run, the other team usually comes back and does.”
I mean, there’s just no way that’s true, Chip. But don’t let facts/statistics stand in the way of what you mistakenly think sounds profound.
Just cause he says it, means it will happen. He is Chip Caray after all. /end sarcasm
Now he won’t shut up about it.
The Oracle Chip Caray’s Prophecy may come true. Two on, No outs.
I watching on SNY. You know it’s pretty bad when a Braves fans would rather listen to Mets guys.
By the way, “Swinging for the Downs” is the most overused cliche in all of baseball.
THE PHOPHECY IS FUFILLED
No way Lo Duca is that fast.
Oh, C’mmonnnnnn James
Remember how, when Andruw first came up, he had a good arm? I can’t remember the last time I saw him make a good throw to the plate.
His traded his arm for Johnny Damon’s
Well, that’s one way to get to Perez.
I wish that would happen when he’s jumping over the foul line.
He may have traded it for Lerew’s, judging by the delicacy with which he’s massaging his elbow out there.
It’s a good thing I’m not able to watch the Vandy-UT game—we’re being no-hit through 6.2 innings. Not a good night.
Sayid had better make it through the end of this Lost season, or I might be spending some jail time in the near future.
I am so sicked of Oliver Perez.
Looks like Andruw had added that toe-tap thing to his swing.
That was some horrible batting.
Does anyone know where KJ is today? It seems like he is getting more time off of late. Is he nursing an injury?
Prado and Woodward in the same lineup with Andruw still in the funk isn’t too scary of a lineup, unless of course Chuckie James can go yard tonight:)
They changed the error to Prado, which was blatant when the play happened an hour ago.
I think the third inning when James had to run the bases the whole inning really tired him. He hasn’t been right since. He has some serious fatigue issues.
This could get out of hand quickly if Chuck doesn’t gather himself.
It was out of hand when the lineup cards were turned in.
Why were they cheering? He didn’t make it out of the fifth inning.
Stu, my thoughts too.
Maybe the Braves can deliver Paronto another one pitch win. Here’s hoping…
haha…it would be fine with me. A sweep of the mut$ would be nice.
Help-Wanted
I’m looking for a distinguished lefty.
Gotta love Willie
It’d be really nice to see Chuck get out get out of the 5th inning sometime.
It would also be nice to see KJ batting here instead of Prado.
I want to hurt Martin Prado, but I can never hurt him as he’s hurt me.
Does anyone else miss KJ when Prado has played?
Did anyone see the Yanks getting a piece of the BoSox?
What does Prado bring to the team;) Slick fielding and clutch hitting…
I really really hate Oliver Perez.
He looks like some kind of mongoloid in his gameday picture. A true goon.
I miss KJ…
Did anyone expect this kind of production from Harris?
Hey, you know Harris’ original position was second base? You know, where Prado is playing and making outs and errors?
KJ messes up every once in a while, but Prado is just making himself look bad out there.
just a base hit would be nice
Never expected much from Willie, but he’s becoming a really important part of the team’s offense. Let’s hope he continues to do so.
Ugh.
Mac, you really didn’t need to tell me that. Grrrrrrrrrr!
You know what else? Harris’ current position is UTIL where Chris Woodward is making outs and errors.
Would it surprise anyone to see Prado and Woodward in the lineup again tomorrow?
I like Moylan.
Fine job, Moylan. Do you all remember his first game of the season? I believe it was his first outing. I believe his ERA was like 80 or 90 after it.
I loathe Perez.
They look all so clueless against Perez…
At least Moylan looks to be keeping them from doing much.
I still don’t understand how the Pirates just traded Perez away for nothing…I really like how well Moylan is pitching…
Bet the Pirates are kicking themselves on that trade now.
I think they intentionally pick the stupidest questions to answer on the air.
Salty!!!
Damn, Tommy makes almost 200 more career starts than Smoltzie.
The Pirates should be kicking themselves for lots of things.
Woodward sucks.
Why Woodward, Bobby? Why?
Woodward is still working for the Mets, if you know what I mean….
Prado sucks.
Don’t tell me this game is hopeless. Not yet.
The Braves can’t figure out Perez like the Mets can’t figure out Davies.
There’s no way Oliver Perez is really as good as he is against us.
This lineup sucks.
I don’t know that is worse for the Braves–facing Oliver Perez or facing Chase Utley?
Here comes the Vulture….
The Braves can’t figure out Perez like the Mets can’t figure out Davies.
And like Bobby can’t figure out who his good players are.
Why are we messing around with Woodward when we can call up Escobar? Also, the lack of depth on the bench concerns me moreso every day.
Lastly, and this is partly because it’s a tough night — our lineups versus lefties are downright ugly.
If you’re going to hit someone, hit Perez.
If Bobby would have started KJ and McCann, the lineup is not bad at all.
The Vulture is trying to start a war…
Is it terrifying to anyone else that the Vulture might load the bases with Devine warming up in the pen?
Well, I like the fact that he hits LoDuca.
Devine is warming up!!!
“He’s pitched really well,” Cox said. “He pitched really well in the spring.”
I think that the Braves are keeping Escobar at AAA is that the Braves figure that he can hit well by playing everyday. With good stats, Escobar remains good trade bait.
That said, I have yet to understand the love for Woodward…
The Vulture is danger of putting this game out of reach…
I think Oscar is heading straight to Bobby’s doghouse if he allows a run here…
That was one ugly inning.
Well…he managed to stay out of if for now…
Yeah, Stephen, “for now” is the right phrase to use!
Chip: “Joe Smith will go right through the 2, 3, 4 hitters in the Atlanta lineup.”
Umm, I hope not. But thanks for being a Mets fan, Chip.
OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS I hate Chip Caray.
Ouch! So far, the Joe Smith prediction seems apt…
The batters are taking a night off collectively.
I can smell this game from here (over the smoke).
I completely hate Chip. He loves every team except the Braves.
Just got back home….
Nice to see us finally solve Oliver Koufax [sarcasm]
Is Chip a spy for the Mets now? He keeps mysterious guessing what’s going to happen and it’s happening.
Chip: “That was tantalizingly close.”
…what does that even mean.
mysteriously*
Chip wasn’t very happy with that strikeout
I’ll add “tantalize” to the list of words I don’t want Chip to use on the air.
– Tantalize
– Fisted
– Cubs
– Cubbies
– Cubs
– “Gets his man”
Nice job Kali.
Kali was bringing it….
I’ll add “swung on and belted”
You realize that if the Mets would add Jason Bergmann, Levale Speigner and Matt Chico to their roster along with Oliver Spahn, that they’d never lose to us again??
kyle, what about “in Chicago”?
To be able to get on the air for the “Know How” Question, you have to ask the most obvious questions in the history of baseball so Joe can explain things in a godly manner.
I tried all last year asking serious, articulate baseball questions and never got picked to me on air.
In April, I’m completely serious, I sent an e-mail and asked what “platoon” meant. A week later it was on the air during a Cubs game during on the 19th. I had to tell everyone I’ve watched the game of baseball before. Thankfully, Skip rambled a lot, and in his craziness, my name was left on the air for awhile…long enough to call my family and let them know my minutes/seconds of fame were dwindling away.
And I whored myself out for TV. Won’t be the first, and I won’t be the last.
Tonight is a very good night pitching wise with only 3 runs allowed, but the offense disappeared.
beedee, I forgot, Chip mentions on occasion a place called “Wrigley Field”
The Bullpen were brilliant though.
Well we all know that Chip says about 18 dumb things per second. But there are at least 1 or 2 times every game where I just start yelling at the TV uncontrollably because of something he says because I just can’t take it anymore. And I always end up saying something like, “Man I hate him! I wish he would just”, and then always stop short of saying “die” because I try not to be an evil person, but OMG that’s how terribly terrible he is. If I could figure out how to sync the radio broadcast with the TV broadcast, I would mute him and listen to Pete, but the radio is always behind TV.
Sorry, I know everyone here already feels the same way, but I just had to release this.
Joe is for some reason obsessed with the height and weight of every Met player.
I’d like to add “Backdoor’d ’em!”
Salty is like the only hitting tonight.
Backdoored? Can’t be a word.
Salty can hit. It would make logical sense to platoon him at first…but it would make sense so that’s the downfall.
I’ve seen him take throws and groundballs at first during BP. He’d be fine there.
Salty!!
I love Salty.
Wagner just made Chip’s night…
And then Woodward kills it.
Woodward, in no way, has earned a spot in the Braves lineup.
Wow, Woodward just watched that right down the pipe for strike 3. What a hitter…
Woodward sucks big time.
This is the Braves of ’07. Blow a teamout one night, get shut out the next (or vice versa).
Bizarro team.
Olver Perez–the result seemed almost inevitable in retrospect…
At least the bullpen looked good…
Woodward did a great job of just watching that one go by?
I wonder how much the Mets are gonna pay him for that one.
Oh wow, I’m turning myself over to the firing squad now. I just laughed when Chip said “And Billy Wagner, the alpaca farmer, just sent the Braves alpackin’.” So you can take me out back and give me the Ol’ Yeller now. I deserve not to continue in existence.
He waited all night to use that one Big D.
They don’t have to pay him…he just did what he does naturally.
Free Yunel Escobar!
I vote Woodward to be the next to go, then Keith Lockhart Jr.
