We’ve all been in Sean Forman’s debt for a while, and now the debt got a whole lot deeper. Glad to see Braves Journal with a permanent home again. And it looks a hell of a lot nicer than Blogger.
Good work, Mac and JC. Thanks again, Sean. Welcome back home, everybody.
The new Braves Journal looks great. Mac, JC and Sean, you guys did a great job.

Good job, Mac, as always. And in the interest of moving the discussion from one board to the new and improved one: Renteria isn’t a very good SS–but you know that already… :). To be fair, I love the way he hits, and I have advocated his becoming the new Julio for a bit as well.

gonzo looked filthy tonight. glad to see that he’s back. we’ll need him while wicky’s out.
Great game in all facets. Hudson was simply filthy tonight. But Mac, you can’t really blame Joe for talking about Andruw’s swing – I’ve been watching all the games (including tonight), and he is pulling off on everything. Yeah, he’s always had an awkward swing – but never quite this bad. You can blame the hits he’s been getting of late on the pitchers – they insist that they can get him out inside and over the plate. If they throw everything away, he’s out about every time. Still, glad he came through – great game.
BTW – Site looks GREAT!!!

Box score on Yahoo and MLB.com shows the braves having left 25 men on base in the game. How is that possible? And I don’t mean, “How could a team allow that to happen”, I mean How is that possible? We won with a walkoff in the 9th, so no one left on there, and even if we’d left the bases loaded all 8 innings before, which we didn’t, it’d be only 24. I think something’s wrong in the stat, but MLB.com has the same thing. Is the LOB stat not simply “runners the team left on base when they recorded the third out of their half-inning at bat”? Do the unrecorded outs in the 9th inning get counted somehow? Is it just some clerical error? Anyone have any ideas?

Great job Mac & Sean, it looks great!!
Didnt get to see the game last nite, no Sports South here in Disneyland. They like to shove the D-Rays and Marlins down our throats here. How did Huddy and Gonzo look? Boxscore looks like they were great…..
I hope Andruw gave Rollins a little smile as he trotted by last nite….

Nevin, nice pickup. It can be fun to read and understand boxscores. Is it possible that the LOB includes runners left on with no and one outs as well?

should have checked first, it looks to have been a clerical error as the Team LOB is now 10 per mlb.com. In the cursory check I did of 3 or 4 more games, average seems to be 5-10 per team per game.

I think you’re right, KIS — they’re counting all LOB from each player, which cumulatively add up to that, and it’s a mistake.
Am I the only one who was screaming at my TV when they let Hudson bat in the bottom of the 6th with two outs? Bring on the DH.
