Chuck James was picked #5 in the latest Ba’s weekly hot prospects. This is what they had to say.
If for some unforeseen reason things don’t work out for James as a starter, he could become one of the best lefty specialists around. Across three levels, lefthanded batters are 18-for-142 (.127) with 61 whiffs against him.

I want to see Kolb in the 7th, Boyer in the 8th and Farns in the 9th. No one else!

He’s still not on the 40-man roster. Anybody know if he has to be placed there this offseason to avoid rule V draft exposure? You’d think he’d be in line for a September call, but he’s not in a position for that right now. I’m too lazy to count, but assuming it’s full there isn’t a lot of dead weight to cut, other than our boy Danny. Powell still shows on the list, but I think that’s a mistake… he has to be on the 60-day DL. I guess Eddie could be put on the 60-day DL to make one slot… but they’ll be looking for room for Brower too.

Not sure if this is the year it kicks in. Kevin Barry, who I thought had a legitimate shot going into ST to make the team this year is having a resurgence as a starter. Last night, 6 innings no runs. He had a great year last year moving up to AAA from Myrtle Beach. First part of season ….not so much. Him and Benero are doing well as starters in Richmond.
