Reitsma’s back! Handed a 3-2 lead in the ninth, he gave up two runs to guys who aren’t even good enough to start for the Tigers, losing the game. Hudson allowed the first two runs off of a Braves starter this spring, including one on a solo homer in the second. Two more strong innings by Bernero, allowing two hits but striking out three, a shutout inning but with two hits by Gryboski (I think it was his first action of the spring, or close to it) and two innings with only a walk allowed by White were all wasted by Reitsma.
The Braves were held to only four hits in this one, two by Pete Orr. Jordan was 0-1, as was Andruw. Chipper was 1-2 and is now at .467 for the spring. Mondesi had a sac fly, and the Braves pretty much split their starters between this game and the one at the Phillies.

Might as well get started with it. It’s going to be a long year with this guy. The only movement on his ball is when it hits the seats in the bleachers.
I’m glad to see Bernero pitching well, although I know it’s just spring training. We’re hoping he makes the club – he played college ball in Georgia after all.
