The Atlanta Braves look to continue their dominance of the Miami Marlins as they begin a three-game set with the Fish in a little over an hour.
Thankfully for the Braves, Ronald Acuna, Jr. is in the starting lineup after yesterday’s beaning by Tylor Megill, and Bryce Elder takes the hill opposite Sandy Alcantara. The Braves look to create some separation from the Marlins in this series. Miami is currently in a tie for second place in the NL East with the Mets, three games back of the Braves.
Sean Murphy did work yesterday in Game 1 of the double-dip, belting a pair of three-run home runs, as the Braves won, 9-8. The bullpen let a three-run rally go by the wayside in Game 2, however, so they hope to bounce back tonight. The last time these two teams met, the Braves were on the verge of a four-game sweep when the Fish rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth and wiggle their way off the hook.
Elder is 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA while Alcantara is 1-2 with a 5.04 ERA. First pitch is slated for 6:40 ET at loanDepot park. Here’s how the Braves will take the field tonight. https://twitter.com/grantmcauley/status/1653472852639662085?s=20
Hands up on who had the Elder as our best starter after just over a month?
When you predict 162-0, all of them are going to be pretty good.
I won’t say I had him pegged as our best – nor will I say he’s our best – but dude is owning his stuff and he knows how to pitch. He has been stellar, and I’m pretty grateful!
Back-to-back bases loaded walks by these Marlins pitchers, and boy, that’s a real shame.
I actually feel a bit for this pitcher, lucky i
its only 5 nothing
i mean 6
I guess Kirby Yates is not the answer.
He is, but it’s a trick question.
Recapped.
I am still on edge about who will be replaced by Raisel. Whoever it is, the sooner the better. We can’t hand the bullpen a 6 run lead every night. And, apparently, 4 is not enough,
