Happy Striderday, Braves Country. Atlanta looks for another series win tonight in Game 2 of a three-game set with the Chisox.
All-Star Spencer Strider (11-2, 3.44) takes the mound against the ghost of Lance Lynn (5-8, 6.03) – thanks for that one, tfloyd!
The Braves will look to do some damage against Lynn, but those with experience against Lynn haven’t had much success. Marcell Ozuna and Matt Olson have the most at-bats (17 and 16, respectively) and have hit .118 and .188. Sean Murphy is 0-for-10. But those ABs were against the living Lynn…the ghost of Lynn will surely yield some runs. The boys have been raking this summer.

And, as you’d expect, none of the White Sox have seen Strider as yet. Let’s hope it stays that way, blowing ’em away with 98-99 mile gas, and that nasty slider!
Game time is set for 7:15 ET at Truist Park as the Braves go for the series win.
Happy Anniversary Ryan. If you’re reading this on Saturday night, you’re not doing it right.
Ha!
one half inning in and the White Sox already look like a beaten bunch
Through two innings Strider looks as dominant as I’ve seen him. 22 pitches, 20 strikes. Five Ks and one weak foul pop.
Strider lost his command a bit this inning.
Side note- listening to Bennetti and Verducci is just awful
Rosario is just God awful in left field. He plays defense like he still can’t see
True. But somehow he sees well enough to hit home runs.
Can we get someone that owns a glove in LF….. PLEASE?
Eddie is terrible defensively
Rosario’s putting on quite an all-round performance tonight.
Before he goes out to LF each inning, do they blindfold him & spin him around in circles?
And again Rosario with just pathetic defense. He would be much better as a DH if Ozuna wasn’t hitting
How ’bout a 2-run bomb here & we ride off into the sunset?
Bad night for Murphy. He wasn’t seeing the ball at all. Tough night all the way around and still almost pulled it out.
At least the fish lost again
What a horrendous about by Riley in the bottom of the ninth. Swung thru two heaters and then flailed at a slider that never was high enough to be a strike.
You have get that runner to third there. Do that, Ozzie scores on Matt’s single, and he may even be in scoring position if Benintendi fires home. Man!
Well, we’re 11-3 vs. the AL Central with only 1 game left.
Win tomorrow & it’s a cool .800 winning percentage vs. that sorry division.
Joe Jimenez is not the answer.
And I would have liked to have seen Ozzie try to score.
Felt the GIDP coming, but he had no shot once he hesitated.
Recapped.
