The return of Kyle Wright is upon us ladies and gentlemen. It’s been somewhat rough sailing the first ten games of the season. With all of the injuries and young starters being called upon, it’s nice to see a familiar face make his way back to help right the ship. Especially a twenty game winner in 2022. Here is how the Braves will take the field tonight in game two of three against Cincinnati.

Kyle Wright will make his first start of the 2023 season tonight in Atlanta. After starting the year on the 15-Day IL with shoulder inflammation, his return is coming at a great time as the Braves are trying to get another winning streak started. His one rehab start in Triple-A last week wasn’t exactly perfect, but we’ve seen what he’s capable of. We just need Kyle to be steady and I think he can do just that against this Reds line up in his season debut. He’ll be squaring off against Luis Cessa, a relatively low velo right hander with a 1.313 WHIP and two K’s on the year through five IP. Here is what he will be facing.

I like our lineup for the most part. I’m glad Sam Hilliard is getting another shot against a righty, although we will be subject to more left handed Ozzie Albies at bats. I hope he can find his stroke soon. Sean Murphy gets another crack at the clean up spot after Monday’s late inning heroics and Marcell Ozuna will serve as the DH batting in the 8 hole. I’m at a loss for words on the matter at this point so I guess we all just grin and bear it and hope for a couple of solo shots. Everything else looks just about right on the lineup card.
