One scout is worried that Atlanta Braves SP Tommy Hanson (shoulder) may have more a more serious injury after seeing him in his last start. “His fastball had absolutely no life. Separating pitch count (as a proxy for tiredness) and number of times through order seems problematic, and Delgado’s pitch count was atypically low for that point in the game. Let the kid pitch.

“Did the Cubs play better after Z left?”

Where is everyone? All I have to “watch” the game is MLB Gameday, so I depend on you guys to talk about the good/bad stuff that’s going on…
Listening on the radio, but not much happening yet 🙂
Also watching via GameDay, and there just isn’t much to comment on yet.
Way to go, Delgado. I really like this kid.
Delgado looks pretty good against Sandoval and the 7 dwarves.
2 — That’s not exactly reassuring.
Delgado looks ridiculous so far despite a kind of schizophrenic strike zone. I had no idea he could hit 97.

Pressure on the defense! Pressure on the defense!!!
It looks like the Good Johnathan Sanchez showed up, unfortunately. Though our lineup makes all LHPs good.
Look at that.. A pitcher who can bunt.
And Sanchez is out. Rolled his ankle on the Delgado bunt.
Wow, that looked painful…
Good Sanchez out of the game.

And that was a 8-3-4-6-2-4-6 if you’re scoring at home, apparently.

Edit: Beat.
How many assists on that play
Lol, Bourn still looks gassed.

VROOM VROOOOM!
Woah. Fifth inning already. WTF?
Shutout through 4.2. WTF?
Delgado’s gotta be wondering if he got on the wrong plane. “This is the big leagues?”
Delgado is throwing a surprisingly high number of balls, but the Giants have so far managed only weak contact regardless of the count.
Is this supposed to be on Fox Sports South? Because if so, more like Fox Sports McLouth.
I think he faced a better lineup last week in Gwinnett.
Errm, bus.
Keith Law is arguing with Braves’ fans on Twitter now. Law is claiming Brandon Belt is better than Freeman.
Man, the Giants are really late for dinner or something…
Keith Law, asked why he “has something against the Braves, particularly Fredi Gonzalez”: “Because he’s a bad manager.”
“I’m really starting to buy into the deal with satan theory for constanza’s success.”
It also appears that Brian Sabean’s deal with the devil has expired.
Delgado’s ERA is now 3.0

If the Braves don’t score in the seventh, this has to be Delgado’s last inning. We’re in a playoff race here.
You knew it would be Cody Ross.
Yup, Commando Cody strikes again.
I think this just became his last inning anyway. Last hitter, in fact.
I hate Cody Ross. Hate the Shrimp. Hate him!
“Call your friends to maybe witness something special”.
-Chip Caray, when the top of the sixth inning ended.
Well…
Well, I guess they shouldn’t have let him turn the lineup over a 3rd time.
Put his ass on the ground next AB for that flip and hop.
Doosh.
Delgado just doesn’t know how to win.
MikeM I had the same thought.
Wow, one hit and a tied game. The Giants are really effective.
Why is he pulling the pitcher who’s at 74 pitches and gave up one hit? Huh?!
Act like you’ve hit one before, Ross.
Delgado is one crafty mofo. But he slipped a stitch to Commander Cody, as it goes. I thought he was trying to walk him for the first three pitches.
ross makes a douche move. like to see him again
79 – Because it was the 3rd time through the order and the bullpen is a better bet to get the Giants out from here on out.
Joe Simpson just reiterated how that double play was “indescribably good” then went on to describe it
84 – I was thinking the exact same thing.
Jeremy Affeldt has received MVP votes.
I guess it’s not necessarily a bad call to pull delgado, but I don’t buy the alleged link between number of times through the order and degrading pitcher performance.
