Awsome! Have a good time at the game, Trace.
In other news, as reported in the previous thread, Aybar has reported to the mionrs. If nothing else, getting him on the ML roster next year would make sure we wouldn’t have to have a Woodward-type as a backup MI (well, I guess we might have room if Lillibridge stays in AAA or moves to CF and Renteria or Escobar get traded…. But lets talk about happy things! :-D).
I still think he’s got the skill to become a very useful ML ball player, but please, KJ doesn’t need another platoon partner. >_

Why doesn’t Bobby let James pitch between Smoltz and Hudson? Afraid of hurting Hudson’s feelings. Wouldn’t it be better to go R, L, R ? We know James rarely pitches beyond the sixth, but Hudson does, so this could give the bullpen a rest day after James. Plus then the bullpen wouldn’t constantly have the burden of the #3, 4, and 5 pitchers potentially all going 6 or fewer innings, and making Moylan & Villareal pitch 3 days in a row.
I think this is the case where strategic thinking suggests that Bobby should go against tradition in favor of a more rational pitching rotation.

They think Pena’s defense stinks and would rather have an all-defense-no-bat catcher backing up McCann.

I’ve always been under the impression that a pitcher develops more stamina when he’s entering his prime. He’s 25, so I hope that’s true and he does.
Alex R.
on August 5, 2007 at 2:04 pm
I think it’s more the type of stamina. Veteran pitchers are smarter, usually, and figure out better how to last longer, but physically, as someone who’s under age 25, he should be at his height of energy.
At the time of the poll, so did I. But he is pretty lucky sometimes.

alex r,
a new starter would be great, but as far as james goes the braves’ haven’t had the luxury of sticking him out there for 7 innings since they’ve been trying to stay in the race the past two years. but yes another starter would be preferable and a priority…and he’s still better than cormier 😉

Some sprint off the mound by Wickman–it looked like he was headed for the jelly donut case.
Dan
on August 5, 2007 at 3:07 pm
I’m not a Woodward fan by any means, and I hate sounding like a Woodward sympathizer, but the man is just a back-up infielder who plays all the infield positions and doesn’t look horrible while doing it. I have no problem with him, or Bobby Cox when he starts him for no real reason.
I know what you mean, but I’d feel the same way about Martin Prado, and he could actually do something things. Woodward can’t.

Adam M
on August 5, 2007 at 3:08 pm
I imagine backup infielders come rather cheaply and easily. In fact, we have one – Escobar. He happens to get a lot of playing time, especially now that Renteria is hurt, but he’s ideal. As for Woodward, even if you keep him as a utility guy, why use him in the bottom of the 8th when you have McCann and Jones available to pinch hit (the latter being admittedly banged up)? I don’t know… let’s just win this in the 9th.
Dan

With an off day for the pen to get some rest plus skipping the 5 spot in the rotation (thereby keeping Cormier in the pen for mop up duty), it seems like dropping a reliever (Devine?) for another position player might be in order. It’d give more ph options plus more insurance for all the players (Harris, Chipper, Andruw) with injuries.

on August 5, 2007 at 3:47 pm
Nice one!
Good to see Chipper bounce back. KJ looked poor today against the lefty, but maybe all that platooning has him out of practice. 🙂
I’m really thinking Escobar is going to be the every-day SS and likely the leadoff hitter next year. His defense was very nice today and he’s hitting well enough. Plus, he adds speed to a lineup that won’t feature Willie Harris in either an every-day or (probably) platoon role. Renteria is fantastic (and it kills me that missing these games is almost certainly going to keep him from 200 hits), but I don’t see the Braves either trading Escobar (given how much I’ve heard they like him) or keep him as a backup.
Other than that, a 4-2 homestand is always nice. Now lets get geared up for Shea!
Salty 2-4 with two singles today for Texas, but the Rangers lost.

From Peanut:
Roster move coming: After carrying 13 pitchers through the Colorado series, the Braves plan to go down to 12 for the road trip to New York and Philadelphia.
Joey Devine was recalled from Richmond when Renteria went on the disabled list, because the Braves were thin in the bullpen.
“Now we could use another player for the bench,” Cox said.
Cox was especially thin for the final two games of the Rockies series, with center fielder Andruw Jones not starting after getting a cortisone shot in his sore left elbow.
Candidates to be recalled from Richmond include utilityman Pete Orr and second baseman Martin Prado. Orr spent all of the past two seasons with the Braves and Prado is among the International League leaders with a .321 average.
Hey the last two we’ve been without Renty and Andruw and the guys are 2-0, we are getting to see if this team is capable for next year. Kelly was fine today, he hit the ball hard three times and got a terrible call against him in the 9th.
Just time for the Mets to lose

how about Corky today, great game from him. Did he call the game? If so I’m even more impressed.
Big double to tie the game and then came around to score on Willie’s single. great defense on the sliding catch and handling that throw from Frenchy. Just what a backup is here for
Goin to the game. First time I’ll see Tex and I’m excited.
I really wish we would have started cormier the other night to give us smoltzie in the mets series fresh. Who do we have in that series? Is it Carlyle Cormier Smoltz?
@4
mlb site shows carlyle-smoltz-hudson, so i guess bobby is going with short rest and the off day. it’s just as well, our 5th starters have been dreadful.
Can we get McDowell added to the Delenda Est vote?
Ron,
I think Woodward needs to be destroyed more than McDowell because we have alternatives to Woodward. Who would be an alternative to McDowell?
corky gets the start today
Corky? Gee, good LUCK
…OFFENSE.
we need the “good” chucky
wow, what a crappy lineup today. It was expected however.
Since I haven’t been on in a few days, let me just say, for the record:
“BOO, BARRY BONDS! Hooray, Beer!”
Relievers we trust…
“Free Chad Paronto?”
this line up looks a lot better than the ones sporting woodward, orr and wilson, earlier this year.
How about a shot for Royce “porn star name” Ring?
can someone post the lineup?
Willie
KJ
Chippah
Tex
Francoeur
Diaz
Escobar
Miller
Chucky
thanks. other than corky, don’t see the problem with that.
*shrug*
I don’t mind this lineup. Miller isn’t going to hit, but that’s fine. Other than that, we’ve got I think everyone else hitting .300 or better. Not too shabby!
Also, is it just me or are the Braves stranding a ton of runners lately?
lately? they’ve been rather gifted at that all season.
“there goes the no-hitter”
Chip, 2nd batter of the game
‘There goes the mute button.’
-Me, 2nd batter of the game
Also, I think tonight’s lineup is similar to what we’ll see next year, with a different CF. ‘Course, that includes getting a middle-of-the-rotation type for Renteria. And with Gonzo back, the ‘pen might be better than it is this year. And that’s not a bad lineup.
I am glad Bobby woke up and dropped Andruw out of the 5th spot. Teams would keep pitching around Tex if Andruw remained.
He didnt drop him he’s not playing.
isn’t that the second inside the park home run allowed by the braves since the break?
I hope he’s not back in the 5th spot though when he returns.
miller has the DP ball gift
And the pictures too, I’m sure
Leave it to Alex to bash Andruw even when he’s not in the lineup.
…that was not an inside the park HR.
i know. wtf
stop hitting into double plays.
So what, incidentally, is Andruw’s status for this week?
Apparently he’ll be back for the Mets series on Tuesday.
@32 & 33
i guess my eyes are bad, i swear that gameday had it posted as an inside the park home run. oh well…sorry for the post.
It was posted as an inside-the-park HR.
Ah. Well, it wasn’t.
That’s ok—ESPN listed Julio Franco as our cleanup hitter today. I was quite worried/confused.
thanks mac, i was starting to think the whiskey was working overtime.
I’m so glad we brought up Corky Miller instead of Pena for games like this. That guy can totally rake!
I dont understand it myself. Very confused
Miller’s up here for defensive reasons, I think. I remember Pena as being awful, even worse than McCann’s been. I’m actually okay with it, though I wouldn’t have rested McCann today, given the off day tomorrow.
They think Pena’s defense stinks and would rather have an all-defense-no-bat catcher backing up McCann.
you don’t run on Frenchy.
Tulowitzki…you’re no Daren Erstad
What a throw by Jeff. Wow…
Chip called that “an easy out”. Might want to ask Miller about that.
Disclaimer:
I’ve never played 1st base at the major league level.
But has it occured to anyone else that we see Tex on his belly and the ball in right field about as often as we saw Thorman in the same position?
Fair enough. I don’t remember much about Pena’s defense, only the fact that he seemed like he could handle the bat.
And you totally don’t run on Frenchy.
I’m fine with the move, too. Miller has already made one fabulous play on the Tavares bunt. McCann and Pena don’t make that play.
jeff deserves gold glove consideration.
Hadn’t thought about it, ryan, but I’d say you’re right.
Chipper!
triple for the cycle for chippa.
frenchy, you’re starting to win me over
You know, it’s not bad for your lineup when you bat the two best switch-hitters in the world next to each other.
oh well
Chuck is at 81 pitches. We’re entering the danger zone.
Pitches 76-100: .303/.376/.652
6th inning: .426/.491/.936
Do Chuck’s off-season window installation adventures keep him from developing the arm strength he needs to sustain 100-pitch games? If so, is there any indication the Braves will strongly suggest an alternate regimen this winter?
give him the hook bobby
I just don’t think you can consider someone who can’t go 6 innings anything more than a bottom-of-the-rotation starter.
Tht was an awfully fta 0-2 pitch to Helton that he fouled. This seems to be a consistent issue with many Braves pitchers. A lot of them lack good finish pitches.
always a hitter too late. damnit.
Right on cue.
wow, we all KNEW that chucky was going to allow at least another run
let’s just go ahead and call this, then, “the danger zone.” i wonder if Bobby has the same data as Jeremy.
Bobby somehow didn’t. I’d have had someone warming up between innings and yanked Chuck right after that walk.
61 — great question. but he throws a lot of pine cones. we’ll call it good.
stu — i bet bobby knew too. he was just hoping he could spare the pen.
also on cue
Nice hanger, Kali.
andruw and jeff together: 513 putouts. that is the highest # for center fielder/right fielder combo in the mlb. right now, andruw is 3rd in putouts for outfielders in the majors.
Hey…at least Yates tried to throw Atkins offspeed stuff. he has hit just about everything this series. But that one was just too easy.
wow that was a sucky list of guys not making quality starts that chip just gave us. hard to swallow when you put them all together like that.
we need outs
give him the heater kali.
sweet
Bobby always seems to be looking for one particular reliever’s arm to abuse. Used to be Reitsma (and he still hasn’t recovered), now it’s Yates.
yeah, didn’t the Braves just bring in some guys to use out of the pen? i feel like i see more of Yates in my life than I do most of my friends.
if you’re on, shoot. if you’re off, shoot until you’re on. tough strategy to employ with relief pitching.
Though I’ll take that inning.
Nice recovery by Kali…now let’s a get a run or 10
Overall, despite how exhausted his arm must be, Yates really saved the game right there.
better than i thought. yates got out of the mess with limited damage
That was a nice job, helped out by the Rockies’ apparent unwillingness to adjust to the ump’s unique strike zone.
wow… frankly, I’m (happily) surprised
alex r… most likely true.
i don’t expect bobby to go sabermetric on us, but that was definitely a high leverage situation as far as this game goes. you probably want your best reliever in there (closer, set up man, whatever his role) — but kali limited the damage and pulled through.
If James is going to be a 5 inning pitcher, he needs to be in the bullpen next year. It’s bad enough we get no innings from 4 and 5. We can’t have these short outings from our 3.
ron.. and who’s going to start?
Ron,
I agree about James. I am fed up with these short outings and even I am on board with Oscar getting a rotation show at this point.
corky!
Corky.
korki for president!
Corky! Life REALLY does go on!
Completely unexpected and beautiful.
Wow, Corky. Amazing.
alex r — i’d pull for villareal as the 5th now if there were someone in the pen to eat long innings
“Andruw and jeff together: 513 putouts. that is the highest # for center fielder/right fielder combo in the mlb. right now, andruw is 3rd in putouts for outfielders in the majors.”
They both play virtually every inning of every game. Neither is a great hitter right now, but your stat needs a little context.
guys, james is young, the stamina will come.
i think james will be fine. more pine cones though.
beedee,
I would argue that you have more stamina when you’re young.
Look, the bottomline about this rotation is that getting a starting pitcher this offseason has to be priority #1.
it’s more the need of a real third pitch than stamina, really, i think.
Scott Thorman, making me miss Julio even more.
I’ve always been under the impression that a pitcher develops more stamina when he’s entering his prime. He’s 25, so I hope that’s true and he does.
I think it’s more the type of stamina. Veteran pitchers are smarter, usually, and figure out better how to last longer, but physically, as someone who’s under age 25, he should be at his height of energy.
Heh heh heh, that was lucky.
Willie!
I hope Mac keeps ripping you, buddy. It seems to be working 😉
and i voted for willie for delenda est…
we’ll take some more good luck. thank you.
C’mon, Cipper, now give us some breathing room!
At the time of the poll, so did I. But he is pretty lucky sometimes.
I like Willie for that reason right there. Most players would have popped it up and started walking to first. Willie never slowed down and turned it into a double. He always hustles.
alex r,
a new starter would be great, but as far as james goes the braves’ haven’t had the luxury of sticking him out there for 7 innings since they’ve been trying to stay in the race the past two years. but yes another starter would be preferable and a priority…and he’s still better than cormier 😉
Hit a triple, Chip.
Eh. Oh well. We got the lead.
For Chipper to hit a triple, someone is going to have to break their leg and become unable to retrieve the ball. Chipper is so slow now.

Ben-
Completely agree.
beedee,
I would like James back in the rotation, but I agree with Stu that he’s more of a back end of the rotation kind of starter, unless he proves otherwise.
It’d be nice if the umpire called the same pitches both ways. The second strike against Chipper was a far worse pitch than some close pitches he called balls for James.
alex,
i know james is suposed to be this guy that just goes out there and throws, not really studying his opponents but the braves need to pay maddux to sit down with him and bring him into the “study” fold. it might save him pitches and save the braves ballgames.
120 — that sure is asking a lot. 🙂
but dotel just got a huge help there.
4th game in five days for Dotel. Welcome to Atlanta, Octavio.
braves14,
Agreed…I think Chuck might have lasted longer if not for some of those calls.
Jeremy,
And that’s why bullpen management is Bobby’s BIGGEST achilles heel.
why would chip say something like “just 8 outs away from a 4-2 homestand” when the braves are only up by 1 in a back and forth game? ugh.
Hey, using that logic, we are 81 outs away from sweeping the Mets, right?
ben — i like the cut of your jib
Is it really that surprising when Chip says stupid shit? The guy is world class buffoon.
Holliday is fouling off some tough pitches.
Thanks Murphy3Ever…hey, does anyone else want to bet on when Bobby is going to make Dotel’s arm fall off? I have around 20 Aug.
I’m beginning to think Chip says ridiculous things on purpose.
Holliday is very hard to get out.
and yet, for some reason, i still roll my eyes every time he says something dumb — as if i’m not expecting it. not sure why at this point.
This hitter is pissing me off. C’mon Dotel.
K!
Finally…sit your ass down, Holliday. We really needed that K.
I don’t understand why TBS keeps Chip and Joe together. It seems like Joe gets pissed off at Chip half the time. They got into a petty argument the other night about whether McGwire and Sosa “saved” baseball in 98.
ben — dotel doesn’t need any help from bobby in having his arm fall off.
sweet K there octavio.
he’s had so many arm troubles that i’m sure he could manage to lose an arm on his own. here’s to hoping he has good health the rest of the year…
erghhhhh
Why are we throwing fastballs down the middle on 0-2?
Ben — I think Joe gets as irritated at Chip as we do.
Dammit. Enough with blowing leads. I am so freaking sick of this.
But hey, when you ride the bullpen like your Tommy Lee w/ bunnies in the suite at the Playboy Mansion, this is what to expect.
141 — that’s the braves’ bullpen’s philosophy — nothing but meat pitches
That inning was just dandy…
Alright, out of the inning…let’s score some runs and win before going to extras
Now only 6 outs away from a 3-2-1 homestand.
hahaha perfect stu
Why would you not walk Helton there? Stupid.
Moylan better be pitching the eighth. Otherwise, Bobby going with a 4th game in five days Dotel is sheer incompetence.

Want to set the over/under on how many Sorry gives up?
I say 2 and I’ll take the over.
Why do we always leave it to our bullpen?
Under.
For the record I mean ‘how many runs’ not ‘how many homeruns’ or ‘how many grand slam homeruns.’
Although I’d still be tempted to the over…
And if he doesn’t give up a Grand Slam, we always have Devine available still…

A. Jones better pitch hit this inning!
Yeah Chip, it’s actually too bad that you don’t sound more like your dad
who does the .215 hitter with a hurt elbow pinch hit for? heh heh
I would rather see McCann–far more relaiable than Jones.
It’s our delenda est list friend, Chris Woodward.
Why isn’t McCann up?
Because he’s getting a big rest, probably.
because the braves would rather put it in the capable hands of mr. woodward
sansho, if you can factor a “putouts per game” average for a combination of right field and center field, i bet my point still stands. also, jeff has been swinging the bat very well almost the entire year.
McCann can still pinch hit, geez.
…
With our luck we’re going tinto extras and I’d rather have McCann be catching there.
yeah, it’ll be more dramatic when he hits in the bottom of the 31st inning
Corky Miller and Woodward, back to back, in a tie game in the 8th inning.
Bobby, at least LOOK like you’re trying to win…
i agree sam and alex r… just playing around
You suck, Woody.
The GREAT, Chris Woodward, ladies & gentlemen.
Again, I guess Woodward is the holder of those pictures Lockhart held onto for 5 years in order to his job, too.
Woodward-o-meter: .214
Wickmania time
braves14,
Sadly around the same avg. as the great, Andruw Jones.
Woodward is my least favorite player in baseball right now. He doesn’t do anything well. I just don’t get it… is this a popularity contest? Is Woodward’s morale that much more important than the Braves’ success? At what point do players’ love for their politician manager begin to come at the cost of victory?
(I’m upset right now)
Adam,
couldn’t agree more.
Soriano & Dotel’s arms are going to fall off.
nice
Well, it’s 6am and my jet lag has seriously kicked in, so I guess I’ll watch the heartbreak on my pc.
almost certainly you’d walk helton —- well, they didn’t last time when he tied the game
NOW they walk Helton.
pick your poison — one of the most consistent LH hitters in the game, or a RH hitter that’s been killing the ball lately
What’s you suggestion Adam? Who would you rather see as the Braves’ back-up infielder?
Willy Aybar?
Well, I’d rather see Prado, personally.
i like orr more than woodward (not that he’s been tearing the cover off of the ball either)
K!
Wicky!
Wickmania still owns Turner Field.
Put me down for Wilson Betemit.
I like anyone more than Woodward.
agreed with spike
Harris, Johnson and Chipper. Can we do it?
yup. braves win
The Mit-Man? Maybe. The Yankees will get sick of him quick.
I can’t believe Atkins didn’t swing at that.
I told you we will go win it for BOB!
Sam,
Or as Jon Miller would say, “BETA-MEAT”.
Forcahol
I like Mit-Man better. 🙂
Some sprint off the mound by Wickman–it looked like he was headed for the jelly donut case.
I’m not a Woodward fan by any means, and I hate sounding like a Woodward sympathizer, but the man is just a back-up infielder who plays all the infield positions and doesn’t look horrible while doing it. I have no problem with him, or Bobby Cox when he starts him for no real reason.
Dan,
I know what you mean, but I’d feel the same way about Martin Prado, and he could actually do something things. Woodward can’t.
can’t believe the rockies are leaving this in the hands of jorge julio ….
I mean: “I have no problem with him, only Bobby Cox when he starts him for no real reason.”
Ugh. Extras here we come.
boooo
Extras here we come.
BS call, ump.
end it chipper
WALK OFF!!!!!
The Atlanta Braves continue to look bad when all they need is ONE run.
Score the fricking run!
who was the last brave to hit for the cycle? albert hall? or has someone done it recently?
Watch him burn one down the middle.
Dan–It’s ok that Woodward is a utility infielder, but I disagree w/ your second part–Cox starting him for no reason needlessly weakens the lineup.
Told you he would.
Murphy,
Albert Hall in 1987 against our friends the Astros.
Tex with the game winner, right here. This is where the trade will make a difference.
good ole albert
come on tex.
THis is what we traded SALT FOR!!!
what the?!!?!?
Extras here we are. What a stupid decision.
WHY do you take the bat out of tex’s hands?
why the hell was Chipper running? C’mon. That was the dumbest thing I have seen him do all year.
I have to head out. I will recap when I recap.
WTF–why take the bat out of Tex’s hands? More briliant Cox strategery.
geez bobby… how many times does that have to backfire before you stop sending one of our slowest runners?
Nice, Chipper.
i understand that you want him in scoring position… but come on
Oh my lord Chipper, what the hell? Quit doing that already (Braves’ baserunners, not Chipper Jones)!
Frank, I corrected that. I have no problem with Woodward as a back-up. But I do have a problem starting him for no obvious reason like Cox does every now-and-then.
why the hell is chipper trying to take a base
Stupid stolen base attempts.
That got to be great for the knees! Thanks BOBBY! Don’t worry we don’t have 6 must win games coming up this week!
Oh, great. Spillbouroghs.
Who believes we will win this game? I don’t.
How much you want to bet it was hit-and-run sign and Teixeira missed it?
i really don’t think a clubhouse argument helps you hit fastballs and sliders better. but if you want to believe the “light a fire” theory — go ahead
Vulture in to pitch.
Dan–saw the correction.
Part of the reason for Woodward being a ph in crucial situations is carrying 12 pitchers. We’ve seen it several times in the past week alone.
If we had kept Franco and not Woodward, we wouldn’t have to see Woodward’s stupid face at all.
Villarreal?
RIP: Braves’ chances
Anybody else think Moylan should have gotten the call here?
tom… i have very low expectations. hoping for a surprise
1-7 in extra innings. bad luck or bad pen? trend or is a luck correction in store?
usually that means bad pen…
We’re saving Moylan for the 38th inning…don’t you know ANYTHING about Cox extra inning strategy?
Frank — yes…I remember a game against the Reds where everyone in the bullpen pitched except Moylan and the Braves lost in 15.
268 — I think it’s just bad luck.
Skip just said Moylan’s back is bothering him, that he’ll be available probably later in the week.
Wow, that was actually a nice inning from Villarreal.
Runs.
Pretty please?
Well, nice inning by Oscar.
Does this now make him our 2nd or 3rd best reliever now?
at least things worked out well this time–the Vulture looked sharp–I assume he’ll be back for the 11th if the Braves don’t score or get to his spot in the order
273 — Great. Our best reliever lately…sheesh
Can we please use McCann or A. Jones here please? NO MORE PITCHERS THIS SERIES!!!
Tbe fair, the pen wasn’t the problem today – so far anyway. James horrible 6th inning issues is the main problem.
Adam,
And chipper’s boneheaded steal attempt.
BS call.
BULLSH*T.
Moylan’s back problem explains the pen–apologies to Cox. Now about Chippper trying to swipe second …
Salt could have done that !
frenchy!
Maybe Chipper Jones tried to steal second on his own?
Regardless, it was still stupid to attempt a stolen base there. Doesn’t matter if it was Cox, Jones or Hubbard or whoever.
Just when I get a bit of optimism, the Rockies give Diaz an intentional pass. Cross your fingers on Escobar.
That a boy Jeff
I suspect it was a botched hit and run… in any event: nice at bat.
we’re due, cmon
C’mon, Game winner, right here.
Do we have anyone that can hit a single here! Oh yeah! MCCANN!!!
Escobar!
YES!!
ballgame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how about that
see…game winner! 🙂
THANK YOU, Escobar! THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
THANK YOU.
I love Escobar.
Let’s go win 3 at SHEA!!!
its about dang time, we couldnt have handled another loss like this….Vulture gets the win
i just like his high fade
Btw, that’s exactly how I reacted when I saw it. *laughs*
Keep taking 2 of 3 and good things will happen.
Phillies losing at Milwaukee! And CUBBIES WILL WIN TONIGHT!!!
taking this series after the Smoltz loss is huge for us, keep winning series
Phailies trail 6-1 in the 8th
I hope A. Jones and McCann enjoyed there days off!!

Pete Orr is hitting .231/300/374 at Richmond. Yuck.
It’s almost got to be Prado who comes back up because we need another IF.
Although given how great of a teammate Orr is along with the fact that he’s been spotted in CF lately, we might just see him up.
CSG-
Also, we won last night with no Druw, no Renty, and a combined 0-9 from Chipper and Tex. 8-o
If we can score 6 runs like that, I think we’ll be in decent shape next year. 🙂
how about Corky today, great game from him. Did he call the game? If so I’m even more impressed.
Big double to tie the game and then came around to score on Willie’s single. great defense on the sliding catch and handling that throw from Frenchy. Just what a backup is here for
Phillies just tied the Brewers at 6 in the 9th.
Well, now the Brewers know how the Braves feel the past few days.
Turnbow is pitching for the Brew Crew. Greeaaattt.
Can you complete this line: .328, .301, .334, .294, .304, .347, .331 …?
.333
.216?
Counsell blew it.
Phils win 8-6.
Effing Counsell, effing Phils…I hate the Phils.
The Brewers are in full meltdown mode.
Recap is up.
