Anyway, Buddy Carlyle just gave us a quality start. He’s now given us two all year, which is more than Cormier or Redman ever did, and is rapidly approaching Kyle Davies’ total. Way to go, Buddy. Now take the ball from his hand, Bobby.
I think I’m finally realizing what I dislike most about this duo. What is so annoying is that Joe will declare something definitively with or without any evidence (i.e., “Ted Williams wasn’t a guy who took a lot of walks” when in fact he is among career leaders) while Jon is so quick to back off a statement. Take just now, for instance, “Bobby Cox, if it comes down to it, he has….he may have a better…a little bit better…his bullpen is in a little bit better shape.”

Buddy did just fine. He gave the team a chance to win, but they didn’t score and Bobby left him in too long.

Shut up about this stupid players only meeting!
Given, Redman, Cormier, Lerew, Buddy gave us a ‘quality’ start….he just should have been lifted earlier….
I wonder how long it will be until Soriano is in the rotation. I’d imagine not until at least 2008…
Aybar update…anyone??
bobby wants the record
You KNOW Bobby’s trying to get kicked out. This is national TV, baby!
Mike.. I think Aybar is still in rehab. I’m not sure, but I haven’t heard anything since.
Aw…
Yes, I agree about Buddy…he’s earned the right now to go back to Richmond. Change the airline ticket to the name, “Lance Cormier”.
I think Aybar was hiding out at those gas stations with Phil Leotardo…
Thanks Dave. I never heard if they managed to track him down.
There was this article a while back on Yahoo…maybe a month or so ago (forgive me if I’m messing up the time), and it said that he was in rehab at an undisclosed location.
Fortunately, Lance Cormier is “injured,” so he doesn’t have to take up space on anyone’s roster.
I think he basically just suffers from Bob Brenlyitis.
There’s Baby Wick…
Buddy did just fine. He gave the team a chance to win, but they didn’t score and Bobby left him in too long.
Does anybody think Bobby is too self-conscious about the record and trying to not get thrown out? Because it’s been a while. I think a good ejection would be good for the team.
Is Escobar playing short now?
Yeah–but its pretty sad if it takes an ejection for the Braves to get up for a game in which they can salvage a homs series against the Cubs….
Pleaaaaase no more Sopranos talk. Some of us haven’t been able to watch yet.
Yes, Woodward went to third. Yunel to short.
That sucks….
Without Edgar, this offense looks even more hopeless.
2 Runs is asking for a lot from this team….
Woodward can beat you in so many ways…
WOODWARD SUCKS!!!!!
Can this game finally put Woody into Bobby’s doghouse?
Here comes the death blow…
Why is Paronto on this team? He’s terrible.
Wow…that was unexpected.
What’s the plural of “est”? “Sunt”? Cormier et Woodward delendam sunt? God, it’s been so long.
Remarkable… it’s been so long since something happened that didn’t suck. What’s this emotion I’m feeling? Relief?
AAR–its disbelief for me….
It seems salty keeps missing homeruns by a couple of feet.
Salty!!
SALTY!!! nice one!
Hate King, considering the guy’s barely 22, I’d say that bodes well for his future.
Also, it’s nice knowing that Cubs fans feel the same way about Dempster that we feel about some of our relievers.
Skip just said that the Braves have won 10 games in which they trail after 7 innings and that it leads the majors…amazing
No doubt, AAR.
THOR!
Mighty Thor! I like the fact that Harris is coming to the plate…
THOR!!! (???)
I love me some Willie Harris.
Long live Willie Harris.
More Willie, less Woody.
Willie Harris:Pete Orr::Rafael Soriano:Lance Cormier
If only….
Willie Harris is my hero.
Willie should be getting more work while he’s hot. I mean he’s a better option than Andruw right now.
Thank GOD Ward is being pulled here for McCann.
This 13 pitcher roster really hurts the Braves in late games. Orr and McCann only on the bench… if we had Pena up…. OH WELL GO YUNEL
At least we are tied….
No RBI, but at least the game’s knotted.
Meh. Tie is ok.
Rut roh. Empty bench most likely. Let’s hope it doesn’t end up like the Giants the other night.
Yes, obviously it’s much tougher on the Cubs than on the Braves, who only lost their best hitter and replaced him with the worst player in baseball because of Lilly’s headhunting.
By the way, the fact that Chris Ward even needed to be pulled, should be a huge indication that he needs to not be on this Major League roster.
Well, Dempster is horrible tonight, thank goodness.
IS Mike Hampton eligible to pinch hit?
I love seeing chuckie as a pinch runner.
Bobby’s managing this one like game 7 of the World Series.
What happened to the Giants the other night?
is this game being played in topsy turvy world unbeknownst to me
Chucky J. as a pinch runner? This game has jumped the shark.
I guess Chuck James is, like Mike Hampton, “a great athlete.”
the south’s gonna do it again!! 😉
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I love the southern-ness of Braves announcers.
“XXX in attendance tonight.. they’ve seen a dandy!”
LOVE IT.
Oops!
willy mays hayes!
AWESOME ….passed ball!
Thank you Dempster….
The Giants needed to finish with a starting pitcher in left and the third basemen catching. Didn’t see it but it sounded funny.
and while I was typing, yesssss willie
Terrible job by Barrett. Let’s hope Dempster calls him out on it in the dugout.
Oh man…I bet Zambrano just went into the clubhouse to warm up his fists for Barrett
Willie for President!
Damnit. that was…
“less than three Willie Harris & Michael Barret three”
Joshtothemaxx–I couldn’t agree with you more….
the dream is alive
Before the year began, who’da thunk that two of our most consistent players this season would be Willie Harris and Peter Moylan?
I mean, seriously. I’m happy–but who the hell saw this coming?
@ 209
That sounds pretty horrible.
It’s like Bobby KNEW the Braves would take the lead, so he already had Wickman warming up.
We could only be so lucky, david.
Andruw waiving in willie was a great. Only andruw can be cocky when he is hitting .220
Ugh. Another brilliant rally-killer from First Pitch Frenchy.
We all know what Andruw said as Willie crossed the plate…
Count it!
on no they put petey in
Frenchy is a great rally killer.
enough with the negative vibes, let’s bring this thing home
Well said, beedee. One out to go. His name is Pie, Wick! You know what to do with him!
*Collapses*
One more.
Come on, Wickman. You need to … humble Pie.
Wiki-wiki-wiki wicked!
I could live without all the crap about how hard the Cubs played. This ain’t little league.
turn out the lights!
salty rocked the house!
Well said, Joey. Shake hands, guys–the game started out bad, but ended good. Let’s hope the month of June is the same way.
Wickmania!! We now have 11 comeback wins….pretty remarkable…
just put another one in the win column and turn off espn
WOW! I had chalked that one up as a loss. Great game for the Bravos.
Wow, great win, I missed it cause I was at the ER…but glad to see we took the series…
Gotta love being the only team in the division not to lose today…Salty at 1st and Carlyle as our #5 needs to happen soon and stay that way.
