My friend jsut called me form Miami and said on the street corners they have these big forks with Chipper Jones, Bobby Cox, Andruw and company in them with signs saying, “The Braves are done.”
Kevin, I say brooms. We could be back in this thing if we beat up on the Reds this week. THough the way our pitchers are throwing, it could get ugly.
DOB said that Sosa may not be DFA. He siad the club has not made an announcement yet and it might be Sheill.

Just their sparkling personalities, Kevin. Except for my mother, who is a Mets fan but is also a native of the Bronx and was 16 in 1969.
1914 Update:
NY Giants 52-34 (–)
Chicago Cubs 52-40 (3 GB)
St. Louis Cardinals 51-43 (5)
Boston Braves 43-45 (10)
Cincinnati Reds 43-48 (11.5)
Philadelphia Phillies 40-49 (13.5)
Pittsburgh Pirates 39-48 (13.5)
Brooklyn Robins 36-49 (15.5)
The good guys got just one hit, a single by CF Les Mann, but combined with four Cardinal errors, two walks, and strong pitching by Lefty Tyler, it was enough. The Braves are now closer to first place than they have been since May 18.

so we cant try to flip flop giles and renty all year, but we give aybar a crack at it first game in the lineup. giles FINALLY back to the #2 spot. aybar leading off. is that a normal position for him?
aybar
giles
renty
druw
francoeur
mccann
diaz
laroche
Remember when we were winning? Who was our left fielder? Thorman! Why is he not playing anymore? I know there is a lefty on the mound, but geez!

This is my hope:
Although the SchMets have no real reason to believe they’re champs, they see their greatest rivals (if a nail can believe a hammer is his rival, that is) in seeming disrepair. Chipper out; Huddy in shambles.
I want something absurd to happen today, something so preposterous that all the Braves can do is laugh. Like LaRoche legging out a triple. Chucky getting 4 double plays behind him. Todd Pratt escaping a pickle. You get the idea.
Then: The Braves realize that they are mostly a bunch of kids. They play “pitch and catch” baseball. They work like crazy on defense and let the hero in Andruw emerge again.
Bobby can coach a team like that. JS got the best arms he could. (Deep bow, here.)
If we really were so reluctant to move Renteria from the two spot, why the hell aren’t we shoving Giles way down the lineup instead of now giving him his old spot back?

Dan
on July 30, 2006 at 1:29 pm
I hate to say but Francoeur probably screwed up the Braves’ best chance, and Shiell gave up a run right away.
Well, our season appears to be on the brink. This makes me sad.
Heard about the Abreu trade a little while ago in my car, but I didn’t realize actually that D. Bell had been dealt to the Brewers earlier this week…doesn’t this now give the Brew Crew about 4 potentials regulars at Third Base?
Abreu ended up going for the cheap because the Phils basically wanted a salary dump. I love Abreu as a player but he’s no longer worth $14 mill. a year–I don’t blame them for dealing him.
I 100% agree with Chip Cara with what he just said regarding Aybar vs. Betemit. As each day passes, I like the deal even more, plus Aybar is a legitimate Leadoff hitter his speed & lack of strikeouts, plus, like Rafy, a switch hitter.
More & more Braves fans should and will wake up that the old JS showed up and fleeced the Dodgers.
4Seam
on July 30, 2006 at 1:43 pm
I’m just saying Abreu is worth MJ talent, escpecially with Liddle.

My main beef with the unconditional Francouer praise is because it is always aimed negatively in light of LaRoche’s struggles. As unparallel as the argument is, Francouer is always being compared to LaRoche. Landogarner’s unconditional hate of LaRoche is where the beef goes to a whole new level.
Francouer with RISP: .306/.339/.459 for a .798 OPS
LaRoche with RISP: .291/.362/.544 for a .906 OPS
Like I said, when Landogarner compares Francouer to “Huckleberry” in “clutchness”, he has no argument.

Maybe Dayton Moore will give the Braves a discount on Mark Redman.
So far, the Aybar thing looks like a stroke of genius; and a better defender then Betemit.
I loved Wilson but this was a good trade and as Skip said on the broadcast, this was a trade for “Beyond this season” as well since the Braves appear to be falling completely out of it now.
I also like David Wright as well..he’s impossible not to like. I also still love Julio Franco and Tommy Glavine.
But I do agree that the “hype” surrounding Wright is annoying.
It’s not to say he isn’t a complete Baseball stud, but if he was a Brave or a Cardinal or a Pirate, would ESPN cover him 24/7? Not likely. That’s what us Braves fans are tired of.
But no one dislikes David Wright because he’s a class kid and hustles and plays Baseball the right way.
Hearing Skip and Chip talk aboiut Home Depot makes me so very sad that Arthur Blank didn’t buy the Braves.
I also repeat what I said yesterday…Bud Selig is a complete a–hole for allowing a low class nickel and dime corporate entity like Liberty Media to take control of the Braves…the Braves as a franchise deserve better from Bud. He should have blocked any owner that was going to nickel and dime us and that’s not an individual person.
The Nats get the Lerner Group with Stan Kasten and we get Liberty Media–not fair at all.

Yates is doing great.
BUT, Beltran is coming up.
I think MLB should allow it to go back to the way it was, just allow anyone who wants to partake in ownership do it, no matter what.
Just make sure some fly by night outfit doesn’t scam somebody, which i don’t is possible.
I spoke glowingly of David Wright so don’t challenge us. If you want to rant about Politics, go to the “Politics” page. But yes, I thought for a guy who makes like $10 million AMERICAN dollars a year and is happy to own a giant American mansion and fancy American cars, him not standing for the National Anthem bwas bullsh–.
And you don’t have to always agree with the President to respect the freest country in the world that has given Delgado the freedom to make a fortune.

If Carlos wants to give every American dollar he makes to charities and third world countries, then he can pull self promoting stunts like not standing for the National Anthem…until then, you like our green money so much, show respect to the country you made it in…whatever political party you support.
The National Anthem is universal for all political parties and is not owned by the republicans or Democrats.
IF Carlos doens’t wnat to stand for a song, that is fine with me, if he wants to burn a flag at first base, his choice. That is what makes America great, free speach.

I dont know him on a personal level and that is why i cant disslike him. No drugs, no domestic violence, No cheating, or bad mouthing, good team mate ,He seems alright to me.

“That is what makes America great, free speach.”
And that is what some are using by saying they don’t like what Delgado is doing.
Yes, on all other ‘levels’, Delgado doesn’t get in trouble with the law, is soft spoken, and had it not been for that incident (multiple times), I would even agree with you. There are definitely worse guys in Baseball, but for me, I saw it as a giant case of hippocracy to be a multi millionaire on American $ yet not stand for the Nat’l Anthem, which has nothing to do with the Republican or Democratic party.
That was what I really wanted to get across. And I stand by that a good kid like D. Wright, even if he disagreed with some political policies, wouldn’t pull that.
besides that last play, how happy do you guys feel about the trade today as opposed to when the trade was anounced. That kid is gonna be something special for you guys
It’s been said by the Braves announcers and all over Radio, but Oakland A’s fans would turn on Billy Beane, if he traded the ace off a first place team like Zito for the purposes of saving $ in 2007—even if Beane wanted to trade Zito (and take a big package from the Mets in return), he simply can’t do it. How would that look, especially with the team being a favorite to make the Playoffs out of the West.
Baez has 2 months to earn himself a solid payday for our bullpen. Let’s hope future appearances go better then this though delgado reaching was a fluke and not really Danys’ fault.
As stated earlier, I liked the Betemit trade the day it was made and like it more each day. JS really got the better end of that deal. I love Aybar’s upside as well.
But I did love Wilson and wish him success in L.A. Was still sad to see him go.

Point taken.
Dan:
Im not sure about milledge. He struggled for us, and is a corner outfielder. We would also have the upper hand in signing him again because he would have already played with the team and get to know some of the players. plus he and our pitching coach go way back to his best days as an oakland A.
of course he could pitch bad and not be able to cut it in NY, and then we are stuck with 2 draft picks…..and thats not even all that bad. We got david wright from losing hampton to free agentcy.
nice comeback inning by Baez. If he can be a good, solid pitcher for us, down the stretch (Wild Card or no Wild Card, whatever happens), I would love to have him & Wickman back.
Let me also add that Mac and I have both come around on Paronto and feel for the most part, he’s earned himself a spot in the ‘pen next year. Yates maybe earning himself a spot also.

4seam. do you really want to know that question. it makes me depressed knowing all the baseball players i looked up to as a kid were using some type of drug. I dont want to find out that almost everyone was on growth hormone or steroids, or anything else.
C’mon Andruw, do something this time at the plate!

It violated Baseball’s policy of not using certain drugs.
But by stated Union rules they have to specifically list everything.
It’s the equivilant of murdering someone, but because the “law” didn’t say specifically you can’t murder someone say using a lamp stand so since we only had firearm homicde listed etc.
HGH was failry new and not something everyone knew about.
Next year, could we all be potentially happy with a bullpen of Wickman, Baez, Paronto, Ray, Yates, maybe McBride and Stockman?
Some of those young guys may just keep improving…who knows.
A lot will depend on the health of Blaine Boyer plus they may want a 2nd lefty or with Hampton coming back, (plus a healthy Davies), the Braves may also look to move Chuckie James or Horam to the ‘pen.

I ::gulp:: have to agree with NYmets. I maintain that “ignorance is bliss” in regards to knowing who was on performance-enhancing drugs way back in the day (the ’90s). I just don’t want to know…
You will get no argument from anyone on Bonds. He cheats at everything, life and Baseball related. Plus, he’s a jerk. Part of the reason I hold no animosity towards say a Giambi is because the guy has been humble, apologized and signing autographs left & right.
Had Bonds been the slightest bit humble and conciliatory and nice to people and the media, i know I personally would speak nicer of him. But he’s such a giant a–hole, it’s easy to root against him, all the time.
People shouldn’t underestimate the power of being a nice guy. It gets you forgiven (Giambi) a lot faster.
And that, folks, is why Billy Wagner is Billy Wagner.

couldnt type out how happy, and excited the days of the braves kicking in the mets teeth in every game is over. It was a fun series, lots of hits, but not much on the pitching front. Your team faught like hell to come back and win this game. Good show of heart from your young team. They will be a force to deal with in a few years.
I’m more concerned about how many homers Chucky gives up than how many innings he goes.
Bah. We’ll all know when we get to the game.
james handles the mets very well. i would be surprised if we didn’t take this game.
Any news on any big moves going down? Are we done?
I just read Connie is possible, but I doubt it.
My question: Will the Mets fans be bringing brooms, or shovels, to the game?
My guess is brooms will be permitted, shovels can be considered weapons. lol
Today’s Game:
Cards 010 000 000 – 1 7 4 LP- Griner
Braves 001 000 001 – 2 1 2 WP- Tyler
I can’t wait!
It’s official … Sosa is not on the bench.
About time.
If we really were so reluctant to move Renteria from the two spot, why the hell aren’t we shoving Giles way down the lineup instead of now giving him his old spot back?
Meaningless gut instincts and “loyalty” of course.
Because Giles likes Pearl Jam, which we all know is Bobby Cox’s joint.
PJ sucks, worse than Hudson. Yuck.
More Seriously, I have no earthly idea why the not that fast Giles has been leading off, Aybar leading off today. Maybe he has some speed.
well… this isn’t good yet again
Chuck just upchucked a 2 run homer.

this is not what I had in mind to watch today….

hmm… maybe our offense shows up booming today!
At this rate, our offense will fall flat like yesterday.
Giles missed it.
PVW: “What the heck is going here?”
Bob Uecker should be doing this game.
wow… that one almost fell in too!
Wow, quite a start…
It would be nice if Andruw put away the HGH and went on a real conditioning program this offseason. He’s looking fat and slow.

Ok, so. Yeah. I’m going to the pool.

Shiell gets started rather nicely.
are the mets still looking over their shoulder at the braves?…I think not. Its only fitting the mets end your run, as you have tortured us for years. Now suffer! Suffer as i have . The Mets are going to 69 Cubs and 64 Phillies it.
The Braves will win the Division.
Yep, I’ve decided to lose my mind. I can recapture sanity AFTER this season is over.
ZOT!!!!
These Met players are going to hurt their shoulders from all this swinging…
Frenchy won’t dive because he knows its rather futile.
Why get dirty for a pitching staff that resembles that of the pre-Tatum O’Neil Bad News Bears.
So… that was bad. What to make of James? Is he just a typical struggling rookie or is he just plain bad? I’m not sure I enjoy the prospect of having him throwing gopherballs in our rotation for years to come.
Thats the Master Plan of Bobby Cox, Davey!
And you thought we just sucked for suckings sake.
James needs to develop pitches to work off his fastaball.
Notably a slider and change-up. Those two pitches work with his delivery.
You can’t 90 mph fastball it all day long you have to have out pitches and breaking ball “get over” pitches.
McCann begins the comeback.
The Braves have had 15 Warning Track “home runs” this series.
WILLY!!
It ain’t over! Aybar is the man. Giles comes through.
Maybe??
EDGAR!!!!!!

Horrible call.
Franceour get a hit. BASES LOADED!
Frenchy magic with 2 out?

First pitch out. BS. Impatient. BS.
Good job, Jeff. Way to make a pitcher who can’t throw a strike earn an out. Sigh.
Nope, no Frenchy magic with 2 out. Guess that’s all gone now.
Take a pitch Jeff. Just one I’m begging you.
I think Terry’s still telling him to swing.
I BEEELIEEEEVE!
Jeff is an undisciplined hacker.
Watch Shiell go out and give up 3.
Yes, I know Jeff is an undisciplined hacker. I think he’s being encouraged to hack away. He’s our resident Rob Deer, only with better average.
Shiell looking to kill all momentum.
Shiell starts it off doing what he does well, serving them up.
I think Jeff needs to spread out a bit(Glavine just struck out HA! Eat that traitor), and not stand up as straight. Get some Chipper in him.
Reyes got a hit, as always.
Lidle and Aberu to the Yankees.
Abreu and Lidle to the Yanks..
Reyes steals second, as always.
we finally get a few runs and we’re gonna give em back???
Abreu and Liddle, what did the Phillies get?
Wow, Francouer is so clutch. Landogarner is nowhere to be found.
Beltran has a chance to hit another one here…

Well Abreu and Liddle went for cheap then. Abreu ain’t dog meat.
Franceour almost but didn’t suck.
Anyone actually think that Abreu can find his power stroke in New York?
omg… that one scared me! thank goodness we got out of it!
c’mon guys… let’s get some more runs… keep trying to chip away!
I’m going to eat….
Have fun, Miranda, hopefully they aren’t in a bigger hole when you get back. π
Abreu should have dealt for Major League ready talent, not prospects.
The Phillies hate their GM, he gave them another reason to hate him even more.
Come on Glavine give it up.
Why with two outs and bases loaded would you throw three balls to Delgado anyway? God I can’t stand pitchers (on the Braves’ team, love it when the opposing pitcher does it) who can’t do the bare minimum; throw strikes.
I hate to say but Francoeur probably screwed up the Braves’ best chance, and Shiell gave up a run right away.
Oh Jorge Sosa is gone? I didn’t know that. JORGE!
WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU LEAVE SHIELL IN!?
Hello all,
Well, our season appears to be on the brink. This makes me sad.
Heard about the Abreu trade a little while ago in my car, but I didn’t realize actually that D. Bell had been dealt to the Brewers earlier this week…doesn’t this now give the Brew Crew about 4 potentials regulars at Third Base?
Oh…
any why is JASON SHIELL staying in the game?
glavine is just sucking ass right now
i spoke too soon.
I’m just saying Abreu is worth MJ talent, escpecially with Liddle.
The Phillies at least should have gotten a reliever or some bench player.
Aybar might be the second coming of Furcal, just make sure Pendleton teaches him patience and a willingness not to swing for the fences all the time.
Dan #120. July 30th, 2006, at 1:32 PM.
WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU LEAVE SHIELL IN!?
Bobby Cox thinks he can go the distance. One more inning.
Aybar 2-3! Aybar is making himself a place.
Why does Bobby Cox call Marcus Giles, “Kelly?” Or am I hearing that wrong?
Tuscaloosa!
I believe that is “Giley”
“Gilly” (sounds like “Jilly”)
GILLEY! KID! KO BY GLAVINE BS.
Swinging at ball four again. With people like Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur, does any other MLB team swing at, and miss, so many ball fours?
That Utley “hit” was an error.
PVW and Chip are discussing Pete Rose.
Their producers apparently told them to forget the game.
Another chance for Francoeur. Will he redeem himself?
There you go Andruw take it the other way. Jeff do the same.
JEFF COMES THROUGH UP THE MIDDLE!
Franceour McCann Hand grenade! 8-6 YEA!!!!
BMac!!…sweet!
The Cans are dancing! The Cans are dancing!
As bad as the pitching has been the hitting is better!
a good hitter gets a hit 1/3 of the time. francoeur came through 1 out of 3 times in 2 out situations. yes, rob, he is clutch. a .333 avg. in 2 out rbi situations is pretty damned good. i wish landogarner would pop his head on this board because your words would be eaten.
why is Shiell still in?
Reyes K’s?, how did that happen?
Who replaced Andruw and Jeff with hitters who actually make adjustments and go with the pitch? Very nice to see for a change.
Shiell is mowing them down, What?
This is confusing….
Shiell just sucked ass again. Give’em back is this teams’s speciality.
Yes, but it’s nice confusing.
I hate Beltran
every time we makie progress in this game, Shiell kills it. Why the hell wont Bobby pull him?
Whatever happened to Charles Thomas?
i despise our pitching, they are clueless, but not as clueless as McDowell
No no no, BELTRAN kills it.
Why don’t you eat them? Why does lando have to be here?
My main beef with the unconditional Francouer praise is because it is always aimed negatively in light of LaRoche’s struggles. As unparallel as the argument is, Francouer is always being compared to LaRoche. Landogarner’s unconditional hate of LaRoche is where the beef goes to a whole new level.
Francouer with RISP: .306/.339/.459 for a .798 OPS
LaRoche with RISP: .291/.362/.544 for a .906 OPS
Like I said, when Landogarner compares Francouer to “Huckleberry” in “clutchness”, he has no argument.
was traded for hudson
Thomas is languishing in the A’s minor league system.
Jason should have been goen at the top of the inning.
Why dont they try to find a legitimate starter, or even a minor leaguer instead of these rehashes and retreads, i cant complain too much , JS has been an awesome Gm, but this season, his reputation and pride came before sound judgement and reality
Oh, and Ryan C: sample size. Francouer’s stats with RISP with 2 outs, year-to-date? .250/.286/.400 – .686 OPS. Clutch? I’m not too sure.
Schiell did a nice job? What game is Chip Caray watching? Giving up 2 runs when your team is already down 7 is not a nice job.
where is brad clontz or greg mcmichael when you need them?!
So CT just had a flash of brillance and then blew out?
he gave up 8 hits in 3.2 innings, thats not really a great job!!!
One out. Just get one more out. Keep it a three run game.
Another momentum inning dead.

Why don’t Braves fans start chanting “Carlos, Carlos”?
nice job macay mcbride!
@4Seam
Yep, pretty much. He’s in AAA Sacramento right now. .626 OPS, 1 HR in 287 AB.
Everytime the Braves score, some loser pitcher gives something back. Why do they (Braves’ bullpen) only pitch good when the other team has a fifteen run lead?
We should bring back Crime Dog Fred McGriff
Cope and Landgarner seem to have a thing going on here.
I think Larouche is Sid Breamish, only a better hitter.
Good defense.
Beltran is worth every bit og his 120 million contract, of only to punish you every game. Go Moltran!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Dan
Simple, because there is absolutely no pressure to keep the lead or keep it close.
peter moylan could keep the lead or maybe lance cormier….jeez, this bullpen is the worst i have ever seen on any team

Braves pitchers are mentally weak and cry babies, except for Villareal, Wickman, and now Baez.
I remember Kolb almost crying after every pitch.
Whose the Bullpen coach, fire him.
yeah kolb did always look ready to cry, he was mentally feeble!
Bye bye, Bobby Dews, then.
Sam, who did we trade him for again?
whose worse kolb or reitsma?
Bobby Dews would do a better job than most of these smucks..
Bobby Dews is the man
Dews, I never hear his name much.
Aybar 3 hits.
No one mentioned it, but the way Chip was talking at the beginning of the game about Schuerholz looking for a starting pitcher make you think another trade may happen?
Well, a guy that we have gotten 22 wins out of so far, but this season, he has been much of a heartache. π lol
You’re right, 4Seam. It’s childish, but I really like LaRoche and out of one side of his mouth, Landogarner seems to want to go “grassy knoll” on Adam. On the other side, he’s all about Francouer and his “clutchitude”. I don’t know; I just don’t see it.
if pattern continues we will get 0 runs this inning and 3 next inning to tie it up, then the mets will score 1 in the 7th to go up one, then we win the game in the 9th. what a game! how predictable.
Good news, we get to play the Pirates after this.
Giles stop taking home run cuts.
@Dan
It wouldn’t surprise me at all. I don’t mind trades at all. Hell, at this point, any trade can be good.
Edgar for basehit!
Frenchy hasn’t been clutch lately at all, you’re right, Rob Cope. I can’t remember the last time he got a significant hit.
and i should have kept my fingers shut. i dont like getting into foreign affairs, therefore i will let lando and rob battle.
Cope, I like Larouche because he is tall and can reach(like Bream), at First Base he’s a rock.
Did you see Orr yesterday, Larouche had to tunnel to get to those gophers.
Renteria blew it.
And people said trading for Willy Aybar was a mistake. HA! Two runs already for him.
Yes he did, but at least it’s not 7-0 anymore.
Funny I thought “Book Depository” is more like it.
The road turns you know. And Kennedy’s head didn’t go sideways.
But thats something completely different than the subject of Larouche’s signifigance.
gotta give credit to the braves, they sure are making a game of it.
Maybe Dayton Moore will give the Braves a discount on Mark Redman.

… the scary part is that actually sounds nice.
at least they’re making a game of it…
So far, the Aybar thing looks like a stroke of genius; and a better defender then Betemit.
I loved Wilson but this was a good trade and as Skip said on the broadcast, this was a trade for “Beyond this season” as well since the Braves appear to be falling completely out of it now.
Salty and James to the Marlins for Willis. Let’s make a deal!
furthermore, i appreciate the don’t give up attitude by the braves. well, at least the hitters.
i hate that smirk on jones. What the hell is so funny right now? or all the time for that matter
i hate the jones’s like you hate beltran and wright
For Christ’s sake, why strike out on a 65 MPH pitch?
lo duca took one off the balls, balls of steal, and the smirking one goes back to the dugout
Nice hustle
I don’t hate Wright, just the hype around him.
Jeff gets a bloop. Come on McCann
This umpire’s strikezone is the terrible. I wish it was consistant, but nope
but yet you hate the moletran
Diaz needs to go yard here, so we can give a run next inning
Matty Diaz almost got a double.
Wow, Smitty, that’s a tall order
Bloop baby. Here comes up The Roach.
LaRoche, come on. Do something, anything, but get out.
If LaRoche can get a hold of one here, he will be my new favorite Brave and everyone on the board has to say something nice about him.
Anyone else eaten 2,632 hot dogs?
Well, I’m ready. I’m switching on the game just for this.
Another pitch, not a strike, but called
Strike? What?
I dislike Delgado for non Baseball reasons.
All that love aside…GO BRAVES!!!
You’re with me 3 game sweep…
ugh…another village left on the bases
No nice things to say about that.
Davey,
The Berman jokes never sdtop being funny π
Damn.
The Mets are giving the Braves a thousand chances. At least the Pirates are next, though they’ve been playing much better.
That was crap. Braves blow another chance.
Something they are perfecting.
I’m this close to switching over to the Hee-Haw marathon.
That’s 11 people left on base. Good God.
I’m going back to play Contra: Hard Corps for the Sega, I’ll check back later.
“I dislike Delgado for non Baseball reasons.”
Me too…
E has the “Full House” THS on right now
Gotta agree Alex.. it just never gets old.
What are the Pitching matchups vs. the Pirates?
Do we get Wells? I hope we get Wells and avoid Duke.
Did someone pay Skip to sound so pro-Met?
Blah blah blah David Wright blah blah blah blah Lo Duca never strikes out blah blah blah Jose Reyes always runs hard blah blah blah Mets rule blah blah blah.
why delgado? because of him not standing for god bless america? He likes america, and he stands everytime now. He just does no support the bone head decisions our country has made
Does anyone else here just HATE Full House?
You know what’s amazing fellas….the Braves bullpen (for the most part) has settled into being a pretty solid group now, including Yates and Paronto and Ray more often than not (along with the new guys).
So, in their place for regular crappiness? Our starting pitchers.
Let’s see what they do Alex. IT can’t be much worse than Time Warner
come on mole tran…..power that big mole up and hit a home run

Yates is doing great.
BUT, Beltran is coming up.
I think MLB should allow it to go back to the way it was, just allow anyone who wants to partake in ownership do it, no matter what.
Just make sure some fly by night outfit doesn’t scam somebody, which i don’t is possible.
Yates blew Beltran away. Kick ass.
oh well.
Well Dan… it’s like Chip and Joe last friday night..
They’re love for the Mets players was rather disgusting.
Alex,
James and Salty for Willis. We need a starter
Their*
Nymets,
I spoke glowingly of David Wright so don’t challenge us.
Keep that in mind the next time you think what delgado did was “cool”. A class kid like David Wright wouldn’t pull a self promoting stunt like Delgado. He’s a prick in my opinion.
“Worse than Time Warner”
Did you forget Ted Turner? Only after he stepped back and kept his crazy worthless butt to himslef and allowed people who aren’t sritter like to run a baseball team did it start to succeed.
I heard Bobby Cox describe Steinbrenner and Turner as “fun” on that Fox “HOF” show. They were “fun”. hehe
“Everytime we win, we tear a piece…”
Orr’s swing tends to be more vertical than horizontal.
If Carlos wants to give every American dollar he makes to charities and third world countries, then he can pull self promoting stunts like not standing for the National Anthem…until then, you like our green money so much, show respect to the country you made it in…whatever political party you support.
The National Anthem is universal for all political parties and is not owned by the republicans or Democrats.
we need four here, or it is over
Pete Orr ladies and gentleman… *clap clap*
Brewers lead 1-0 over the Reds in the seventh and Kolb is still their closer. Go Brewers!
And Pete Orr stinks.
Orr just Orr’d
Here comes Aybar, get 4.
Tded Turner was a great owner and far better then AOL-TW. I can’t believe any Braves fan would feel differently.
If Ted was the owner, Chris Reitsma would have never been the closer in April.
IF Carlos doens’t wnat to stand for a song, that is fine with me, if he wants to burn a flag at first base, his choice. That is what makes America great, free speach.
Skip just said Betemit is on deck. ha ha ha!
For all the offense, Wright is an error machine. Him and E-Rod are booting a lot recently.
Ted sucked for a while
Smitty,
I wholeheartedly agree with you; but I don’t have to ‘like’ Carlos or feel he showed any class when he did it…that was my point.
Alex. Some of what your saying i agree with you. But every man has his own right to do what he wishes. He actually seems like a nice guy. Great friend to beltran, and has a few donations going .
I dont know him on a personal level and that is why i cant disslike him. No drugs, no domestic violence, No cheating, or bad mouthing, good team mate ,He seems alright to me.
Speech is talking, burning a flag is open Treason.
I say naplam him, but hey I’m just pist.
Anyway, Ted Turner throughout the 80’s-HORRIBLE.
Tend to forget that era, which kinda makes sense for a Braves fan.
“That is what makes America great, free speach.”
And that is what some are using by saying they don’t like what Delgado is doing.
You don’t have to like him. I don’t like him because of the METS on his chest.
Ugh, another runner left
4seam,
sadly, I am an old enoiugh Bravos fan to remember the 80s all too well.
However, once he had a good GM + his open waller and the “culture of winning”, the money then got spent on guys such as Greg Maddux and Fred McGriff.
the 90’s made up for the 80’s in my book.
Especially 1995 π
this has been a bad pitching series.
NYMets,
Your right, this has been some bad pitching
i dont think glavine has anything left in the tank to get us far in the playoffs, We need the zito rental.
Baez is on the mound, nice curve.
“We need the zito rental.”
Even if it means Lastings Millege (spelled right?)
F-ing swift. Why do that BS?
NYmets,
Yes, on all other ‘levels’, Delgado doesn’t get in trouble with the law, is soft spoken, and had it not been for that incident (multiple times), I would even agree with you.
Well that shift sucked
“F-ing swift.”
I mean shift.
besides that last play, how happy do you guys feel about the trade today as opposed to when the trade was anounced. That kid is gonna be something special for you guys
Baez, our savior
The 90’s were good. Late 70’s through early 80’s-ewwww.
Baez has 1st and 3rd.
Smitty,
Baez has 2 months to earn himself a solid payday for our bullpen. Let’s hope future appearances go better then this though delgado reaching was a fluke and not really Danys’ fault.
Nice comeback, Baez.
Baez can get a DP. Nice K there Danny.
I’m with Delgado, even though i hate the Mets.
nice K there
As stated earlier, I liked the Betemit trade the day it was made and like it more each day. JS really got the better end of that deal. I love Aybar’s upside as well.
But I did love Wilson and wish him success in L.A. Was still sad to see him go.
Of the 90’s home run hitters, how many people think Greg Vaughn, Carlos, and others were and some still are HGHing it?
Out 2!
Alex r:
Point taken.
Dan:
Im not sure about milledge. He struggled for us, and is a corner outfielder. We would also have the upper hand in signing him again because he would have already played with the team and get to know some of the players. plus he and our pitching coach go way back to his best days as an oakland A.
of course he could pitch bad and not be able to cut it in NY, and then we are stuck with 2 draft picks…..and thats not even all that bad. We got david wright from losing hampton to free agentcy.
4seam,
I am under the assumption that they all were. But it was legal so truth be told, I have no problem with them if Baseball didn’t ban it.
Andruw, Baez gets out of it.
Good job.
Nice work by Baez..
First and third no one out and Baez held them.
Vaguhn was probably as were Castilla, Bichette, Walker
Nice good to get out of that jam
nice comeback inning by Baez.
Right now, the bullpen has pulled way ahead of the starters. If the starters had stayed hot, we’d be within 2 games of the WC by now.
Yates has pitched well of late
but i do want bonds to burn baby burn!!!!!!!
C’mon Andruw, do something this time at the plate!
D’OH!
AJ just choked.
Another ridiculous at bat by ‘Druw…
Andruw look like Andruw circa 2003
Next year, could we all be potentially happy with a bullpen of Wickman, Baez, Paronto, Ray, Yates, maybe McBride and Stockman?
Some of those young guys may just keep improving…who knows.
A lot will depend on the health of Blaine Boyer plus they may want a 2nd lefty or with Hampton coming back, (plus a healthy Davies), the Braves may also look to move Chuckie James or Horam to the ‘pen.
Just to clear this up: Delgado refused to stand for God Bless America; he’s always stood during the anthem.
Should the Braves just stop playing home games? I mean, every time we have a great road trip, we get killed at home.
I ::gulp:: have to agree with NYmets. I maintain that “ignorance is bliss” in regards to knowing who was on performance-enhancing drugs way back in the day (the ’90s). I just don’t want to know…
I would trade James right now. I don’t think he is going to do much
We should start wearing our road grays at home
Smitty,
I am starting to believe, unfortunately, you are right about James.
The more I think about Stu’s suggested James, Salty and whomever else for Willis suggestion (not that Florida would do that), the more I agree.
Those Home Runs may only get more frequent..
Tying Run Larouche, here comes Wagner.
COME ON ADAM!!!!
Tying run is coming to the plate for the 48th time today…
Yeah, it would be good if we remembered how to win home games again..
LaRoche vs. Wagner? Son of a b****!
Bring in Franco! Oh wait…
The Braves should wear their Road unis.
If they are that mentally weak, tell only opponet fans to come to the park when they are home.
Wickman’s up.
Franco? Wow…flashback….
oh god, Todd Pratt is the only righty available? arrggg..
Nice….
Adam choked, what second time today?
And that, folks, is why Billy Wagner is Billy Wagner.
Well, no one care say the Braves didn’t have a million chances. 6.5 is still not insurmontable, but now a thousand teams are in front of the Braves, again.
Frenchy was worse, he left 5 on. Adam has left 4. Team-wise: 14.
And that’s why we’re not going anywhere this year…
Yea I saw Pratt on deck, luckily we got to see Adam slaughtered by Wagner, instead of Halftrack, I mean Tank.
0-2 no ball in dirt. Rays serves it up to Endy.
What did we offer Wagner?
Great, a flare from LoDuca…
14 left on.
WE’RE DEAD LO DUCA JUST DROVE IN ENDY, REYES.
JUST ENDY.
Now Jeff dives.
OMG… Jeffrey DOVE!!!!! WOOHOO!
Great catch by Frenchy…
Anyways..i’m gonna play some ball now. Bleh
Will a trade be announced after the game again? Would be interesting.
How about we get Zito? That way Hudson and him can both suck together forever?
NY, can you answer a question for me (and probably half the people on this board)? why do you go to a blog where noone wants your presence? i am not trying to be rude, but i just dont understand the type of person that would do such a thing. are you one of those awkward guys that always stays too long at someones house? do you not catch subtle hints like people not answering your phone calls, or alwado you not understand what someone means when they say “no..uhhhh…i…..uh have to take my grandmother to the dentist. i cant come play army with you”. just curious
@333
LOL
Rally caps. Pratt’s up.
Haha
endy is honestly one of my favorite mets. He is so clutch…he remindes me a lot of reyes, Who is my fav met. i like him as much as i did strwman back before he became a junky
“What did we offer Wagner?”
Wagner said the Braves never called him and that surprised him.
FSN said, during their interview with Schuerholz a while back, that the Braves went after Wickman, Baez, Hoffman, Todd Jones and somebody else I can’t remember.
Pratt just sasmed a strikeout, Reminds me of Doyle’s Bend in Major League.
“Braves went after Wickman, Baez, Hoffman, Todd Jones and somebody else I canβt remember.”
Kyle Farnsworth. Now how did I forget that?
Aybar 4-6. He’s good.
Ryan c:
I have been very nice today, when i could be totaly rubbing this series in your face. why provoke me?
I came here to talk a little trash and have some fun at your expense if you must know. Its all in good fun.
JS should be fired for not going after Wagner. Thats just criminal.
I want to fire everyone it appears.
Strike em’ out throw em’ out. 15 GB
*PUKE*
one word sweep. π π π π
Actually, that’s three words.
“spasmed”
And four smileys
lol, i was just too excited.
The trades have worked out well, Wickman has performed well, Baez got out of trouble today, Aybar had an excellen day at the plate.
Everyone else just sucked.
couldnt type out how happy, and excited the days of the braves kicking in the mets teeth in every game is over. It was a fun series, lots of hits, but not much on the pitching front. Your team faught like hell to come back and win this game. Good show of heart from your young team. They will be a force to deal with in a few years.
I wonder what Mac is gonna say about this one?
“Mets vs. Fulton County Special Needs All-Stars?”
And the marlins lost today!!!!
And the phillys trades abreu!!!
And the mets beat atlanta at home!!!
Wake me up, I must be dreaming
