5/28/98: The bullpen, which has been such a source of strength the last few months, is suddenly shaky. Tonight, it blew a 5-3 lead (which had been as much as 4-1) and then Mark Wohlers was shelled in in the ninth. (If Chipper had been just a little quicker with a tag, he might have gotten out of it, but he didn’t pitch well by any means.) It’s one of those things, I guess. Sometimes I think Bobby uses his best relievers too much, but I don’t see it right now. Dennis Martinez had probably his best start of the season, six innings, one run.
Wow, he actually used his best reliever back then. Wait a minute, did the Earth stop spinning just now?
