5/3/98: Last night, Bonds finally did what he should have been doing all series and bunted for a base hit. Worked, too, to a degree because the runner he moved to second in front of him eventually scored.

Today’s game was very bad, and Glavine didn’t get past the fourth. The only good thing was that Michael Tucker continues to tear the cover off of the ball. Even worse than the game, Mark Wohlers went on the disabled list with a muscle pull. John Rocker took his place on the roster; Rocker’s a 23-year old lefty, who as I recall did very well in the spring. He’s not generally considered to be any type of prospect, and did Adam Butler do so badly in his time up that he couldn’t be brought back? I suppose that Kerry Lightenberg will close for now.
