The Braves took three of four from Montreal while the Phillies split four with the Mets and the Marlins lost three of four to Cincinnati. The Braves now lead the East by three games, their largest lead of the season, and are seven up on Florida. The victory wasn’t without its cost, as the Braves may have lost Brian Jordan for an extended period of time with an injury to his left leg. It’s not known yet how serious it is, but it doesn’t appear to be a tear. If Jordan is out for a long time, that increases the chance that the Braves will trade for a bat (the trade deadline is Tuesday) but they haven’t done anything yet.
