This will be a short review because I only saw the last 3 1/2 innings of this game. Needless to say, I didn;t get to see any of Bryce Elder, but the 4-1 score when I turned it on told me that Mr. Elder is the current owner of what Mac used to call The Pictures. The Braves were down 4-1,

As Aaron Bummer, Enyel De Los Santos and Raisel Iglesias proved, anyone can get the Twins out. 12 up and 12 down. This demonstrates that Bryce Elder isn’t just anyone. On the other side, Chris Paddack, Louis Varland, and Danny Coulombe (whose stuff is electric), seemed to show that anyone could get the Braves out. But enter Griffin Jax (which is a name, not a complete sentence) in the 8th, who confounded everyone’e expectations by giving up a run (on a highly questionable fielding decision by Ty France which really didn’t affect the scoring) and loading the bases with one out in the 8th. Cole Sands (who represents the problem we get when we take cabbage salad to the beach) gave up the tying runs when Michael Harris II singled in 2. A hit with the bases loaded? Drake Baldwin follows with a pinch hit single to score two more.

When Apple TV broke to commercial, the Braves had scored 5 runs in an inning without a homer. This is the second time this season that this has happened — the other was the 5 run 8th against the Marlins in the initial Braves 10-0 win against the Marlins. I’m going to do a little more research on this and will report tomorrow. So I guess my new strategy is to go out when Elder is pitching, come back around the time I expect him to be removed and wait for a late Braves rally. What could go wrong?

So what the world needs now is patience. We need to wait until Bryce Elder is gone. We need to wait until Alex Verdugo is ready to replace Jarred Kelenic. We need to wait for the return of Ronald Acuña Jr. We need to wait for the Braves record to recover. We need to wait for the 8th inning, apparently. Are we patient enough? Or are we just mental patients for waiting?
