The Braves sent 6 pitchers (Grant Holmes, Dylan Lee, Pierce Johnson, Aaron Bummer, Daysbel Hernandez, Raisel Iglesias to do the lord’s work on Sunday, beating the Marlins 5-4. Raisel Iglesias picked up the 2 inning save for his 32nd of the year. The bats stayed hot and the Braves collected 11 hits, 2 walks, and 2 home runs by Ozzie Albies and Gio Urshela. While it’s not great, Urshela has now brought his ATL OPS up to .713, which is definitely playable considering his excellent defensive reputation. Both Michael Harris II and Matt Olson continue their hot streaks, combining for 4 hits and 2 walks. The bats are getting hot at the right time.

The Chase Continues

The Mets keep on winning, but now there’ s a new twist as the Mets AND the Diamondbacks are 2 games ahead of the Braves with 6 to go. Obviously, the Mets series starting tomorrow looms large and taking 2 of 3 is necessary to keep the dream alive. Looking ahead, the Braves will be sending Spencer Schwellenbach, Chris Sale, and Max Fried to the mound for the Mets series, while the Mets will send Luis Severino, David Peterson, and Sean Manaea. The pitching matchups are so good and it’s going to be can’t miss baseball.
