Braves currently sit 6.5 games back of the Philadelphia Phillies and 3rd seed in the Wild Card. Chris Sale takes on Freddy Peralta in Game 2 of the Braves/Brewers 3 game series. Tomorrow will be an early one (11:20 CT/12:20 ET) and the Braves will head to Deinver for a 3 game weekend series.
Transaction a Day AA
If Dylan Dodd actually gets into the game, one would bet it’s a repeat of what happened last night. Let’s hope it’s not.
Braves Lineup
The last time the Braves sent a near all RHH lineup out to face a LHP, it went quite well. Let’s hope this lineup can duplicate it. Honestly though, I’d still rather see Marcell Ozuna in LF and let both catchers hit, but that’s probably wishful thinking from Brian Snitker, who I think is a good manager, but is about as flexible as my back after running 6 straight PE classes.

I’m afraid Marcell’s glove might be about as flexible as your and my back, Ryan!
Anyway – a two-run first inning is a sight for sore eyes, though this umpire turning balls into strikes against our hitters isn’t a lot of fun to watch.
We don’t do much defensively to help our pitchers.
Or offensively for that matter either
We don’t have a payer on the team that would have singled like that with two strikes and two outs. We get beat by pesky teams constantly
Is Rick Kranitz okay? He has been gone a long time.
Like much of the team, it seems like he’s checked out for the season.
OR NOT? HOLY CRAP, SNITKER IS ALIVE. About damn time
I was wondering the same about Kranitz. Has anyone heard anything?
A team that does all the little things right against one that does them all wrong.
Umpire tonight is the worst I have seen all year and that is saying something. This Braves team is hard to watch. Not quite as difficult to watch as the 2021 team for most of the season, but it’s close. Let’s hope we catch fire at some point.
Chris Sale had “Kelly Kranitz” on his Stand Up To Cancer card at the ASG. I can only speculate that his absence is related.
There’s this article from 2019: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/1262814/2019/10/02/braves-pitching-coach-rick-kranitz-maintained-positive-vibe-while-dealing-with-crisis-at-home/.
I’m not a big prospect guy (LOL) but the farm system is a ghost town. In the off-season, the Braves need to cut out some dead wood.
Recapped.
This team feels dead in the water the way the 2021 team did. So we’ll probably win the World Series.
Now, now, I know some of you are now going to say, “But Rob, the trade deadline acquisitions are what spurred us last year!” And yes, that is true. And I don’t want to sound like Chip Caray, but I am going to remind you that his team will get Ozzie, Harris, and maybe even Ian Anderson and Ynoa back, and these returns are almost as good as a trade! ::ducks::
But in all seriousness, yes, Strider and Acuna aren’t coming back, but we do get a lot of guys back, some that haven’t played at all this year. And we’ve already gotten Fried back.
Also, we suck.
