Max Fried, Braves look to win Game 2 at Philadelphia this afternoon. Game 2 of 162 is currently in a delay, but weather is moving its way thru Philly and should be good to go by 4:30 ET.
Fried will face Aaron Nola. The lone line-up change for today is Travis d’Arnaud. He is in the lineup for Sean Murphy, who landed on the IL with an oblique injury sustained in his second AB of the season.
The beauty of today is Ace 1B takes on these lefty sticks and has enjoyed success against the Phlies. In Fried I trust, I’d just like a little earlier offense today.

What a horrendous outing by Fried!
Yeah there is no way we should even remotely consider spending any type of big money on keeping him. Let someone else overpay.
Screwed by the ump. Had strike 3 with no runs and the ump blew the call.
I know you can’t argue balls and strikes, but you should be allowed to paddle the ump after blowing one that badly.
But remotely throw strikes and it doesn’t matter. It wasn’t the umps fault he walked the other dudes
Baloney. Fried has always struggled in the first inning and often needs a clutch pitch to get out of it. Then he dominates over the next 4 or 5. Many of the best pitchers need time to settle in. There’s an old adage of having to get to the best pitchers early. I would bet that if Fried gets that one call, he would have gone 6 scoreless (or two or less runs). In the end it didn’t matter but you can’t just say “throw strikes and make it irrelevant”.
Fired has more career walks in the first inning than any other inning and he’s still an ace.
Way to go offense. Great answer
Travis d’Arnaud is so amazing!
How about that Kelenic!!!
Way to go, Jarred! I think that little squibber that turned into an RBI may have been a really nice ego boost. The RBI single he just stroked was simply a terrific piece of hitting, taking a good pitch on the outside corner for a really clean line drive between the outfielders. If he can do that, he’ll make this lineup that much more dangerous.
Jarred – What. A. Catch!
Kelenic and Olson had a terrible spring. They are tearing it up now. It never ceases to amaze me how worthless spring training stats are.
Heck of a job by Uncle Jesse there. Comes in with the bases loaded and the game seemingly on the line, and just strands them all, twirls three great innings, and gives the offense time to firmly reclaim the lead and the momentum. What would we do without him?
Welcome back, Tyler!
Is Philadelphia’s bullpen as bad as they look so far? I hope so. If that’s the case, Philly is going to have a tough year.
Great see Nutsack back in the hill. Dude will forever be a legend
I predict that if the Braves have 5 guys that hit .500 or better, we’re going to have a very good season
Kelenic is in a zone
I can live with Kelenic hitting .800
That will play
I can live with the Braves averaging 1.3 runs per inning.
Even with three gift runs the Phillies can’t keep up. Love it.
The offence is scary good. Good for Kelenic getting some early hits. And Chavez with the win!
Lets sweep them tomorrow.
And to think. we have Sale, Morton, and Lopez coming up next.
Sorry for the late recap, guys and gals. We left Colorado this morning and have been on a plane for most of the day. However, I’m PUMPED about the Braves right now so I got it in tonight.
