It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I’m not one of those who can easily hide
I don’t have much money, but, boy, if I did
I’d buy out free agent years for our own Max Fried
If I was a GM, heh, but then again, no
Or a Wash who makes greatness from head down to toe
I know it’s not much, but I say with no fuss
My joy is this team, and this team’s for us
And you can tell everybody this is your team
They may be the greatest, and nothing’s yet won
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while they’re on the field.
I turned on the tube to MLB com
Well, a few of the outings, well, they go very wrong
But the weather’s quite kind, no rainouts at all
It’s for people like you that keep the game on
So excuse me forgetting, I’ve looked it up twice.
You see, I’ve forgotten if it’s Max or it’s Bryce
Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean
This is the best Braves team I’ve ever seen
And you can tell everybody this is your team
They may be the greatest, and nothing’s yet won
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while they’re on the field.
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while they’re on the field.
(Elton John, Tom Glavine and I share a birthday, though Elton is 9 years older and Tom is ten years younger. I only regret that this song is too short to actually detail the things I love about this team.)
