The Atlanta Braves played a baseball game tonight, and they lost it 13-2 against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Ian Anderson wasn’t very sharp right from the start, the bats were pretty dead for most of the game and the bullpen led the deficit balloon pretty quickly. The Braves are now 24-26 after an even 50 games and still haven’t crawled over .500 at any point all year.

To be honest, none of it really feels like it matters. You already know what really matters here, but just in case you haven’t seen the news:

Jeff Passan on Twitter: “Atlanta Braves star Marcell Ozuna was arrested today and charged with aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor battery – family violence in Sandy Springs, Ga., according to jail records on the Fulton County (Ga.) website.” / Twitter

Chelsea Janes on Twitter: “Sandy Springs, GA police just made more details of Ozuna’s arrest public. Believed to be an altercation with his wife. “In addition to the strangulation attempts, the suspect also struck the victim with his arm which has a cast from a previous injury.” https://t.co/OndzFHo8Bj” / Twitter

This is the only story related to the Atlanta Braves that really matters today, and the commentary on it should come from people who have experienced domestic abuse and understand the gravity of it, not a man on a couch who happens to write about Braves games on this website Fridays on Saturdays.

But alas today is Saturday, which means I needed to come up with something. This is pretty much all I have in terms of a recap.
