I went looking for some game footage featuring Ernie and the first video linked is all I found. I remember that special way back in the day, haven’t seen it since.
I also remember that CNN Sports commercial, must have heard Skip’s “You’re gonna talk us out of a job” a million times.
As I watch that poor quality, edited clip on YouTube, I just think it’s shameful that MLB doesn’t have an archive of game footage available streaming or for purchase on DVD. Ernie Johnson just passed away and the legacy of his lifetime might as well have never existed since it’s sealed away in vaults and not easily available to the public.
On the bright side, most of the TC comment section agrees with the lineup. I’d be interested to see a poll on it here, actually.

Uggla/diMaggio from the last thread: That Uggla is no DiMaggio makes his streak even more remarkable in my eyes. And he is a power hitter on top of all that. How many power hitters have had streaks of 32 or better?
I admire the way he carried himself when he sucked, and I admire the fact that he got out of it like this. And I don ‘t give a [f-word] for what the dudes on ESPN will blabber about it.
Is Todd Pratt in this game? He has no business being here

Scott Proctor was signed by the Yankees! Ahahahahahaha! Reporting to AAA, per DOB

Ryan, thanks for mentioning the softball game, I wasn’t aware that was happening! It was so much fun to see those guys again!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but is there any news on McCann? I thought he was eligible to return yesterday, but he’s not in there again tonight.

@12, He’s playing in Gwinnett and they seem very cautious about rushing him back. They made it sound like he could be back in the next few days if not tomorrow (which Peanut recently wrote).

McCann was to rehab in Gwinnett last night and tonight. I don’t know how last night went.
Can someone help me figure out how to find a proxy server to get around the mlb.tv blackout restrictions? I waited till I was in Baltimore to get it, and every game so far has been blacked out. I’m beyond furious.
@7: Thanks for the heads-up about the softball game. I was amazed how many of those guys I didn’t remember at all. (In my defense, 1991 was my freshman year of college, and so I was drunk the entire time.)
@27 I’ve got no cable in this apartment. My landlord won’t let me get cable, satellite tv or dsl, so my only hope for entertainment was mlb.tv. Man, was I wrong.

Baltimore is in the Atlanta zone? That doesn’t make any sense. Shouldn’t Baltimore be in the Nationals and/or Orioles viewing area?

Thanks to WGN for the kind words about the Baseball Narrator.
@30 That’s what it says online, but it’s still blacking me out. Maybe it’s because the game is on wgn?

Shouldn’t Constanza be batting 6th so that he can steal bases instead of having to be anchored on first with the pitcher batting next?

Bethany, you probably already figured it out, but the audio feeds from the radio broadcast are immune to blackout. Jim Powell paints a mean word picture.
@34 Yes, I’ve been listening in, which is better than nothing, but it’s also something I can do for free. I just have to cross my fingers that after the cubs series I’ll be able to watch some of the games, I guess.

Someone really needs to tell Steve Avery that grown men don’t part their hair in the middle.
Someone pull this ump’s mask off- he’s Jerry Meals in disguise.

So is Heyward basically doing a DL stint while on the roster? I have to say, even as someone that’s been critical of his bad swing, that I’d rather seem him in the lineup than Prado. If he’s hurt then let’s say so and move on. If he’s not hurt then things are going to remain somewhat awkward.

60 – He doesn’t appear to be hurt. Fredi just thinks Constanza and Prado give them a better chance to win, even against righties.

Cue apology from Zambrano in 3….2….

The softball game is on braves.com. I love this stuff!
@7 Yes, it’s been a hoot to watch.

MLB.com: Atlanta puts winning streak in Lowe’s hands
That inspires confidence.
Chipper Jones can still use the leather.
@7: Thanks for the heads-up about the softball game. I was amazed how many of those guys I didn’t remember at all. (In my defense, 1991 was my freshman year of college, and so I was drunk the entire time.)
Uggla!
Uggla!!!!
But can I see it? No. Apparently I’m paying 40 bucks to stare at a black box with a braves logo in it.
Twenty-four to go! I like that Dan’s not keeping us in suspense.
Byrd looks like he is positioned on the warning track.
Bethany – the game is on WGN if you have that channel.
(As a fellow Baltimore-area Braves fan, I commiserate with your difficulties.)
How Lowe can we go?

DAN UGGLA!!!!!
This Uggla guy. Gee whiz…
Wow.
DAN!!!
Stay hot, Danny.
@40,
Yes?
I hate Episodes.
We might be Proctor free now, but we still have this clown
Damn. If Chipper hadn’t have made the baserunning mistake it wouldn’t have hurt quite so much
Hell of an effort, Michael.
Yeah, rookie baserunning mistake from Chipper. Damn.
I guess I had high hopes for this game but Lowe is being Lowe.
Bah. That’s the thing about Lowe. You think he’ll scrape by until he doesn’t.
Five runs to the Cubs? Maybe it’s time for Lowe to get *his* suitcase and go.
Why do we let Lowe go past 1 baserunner in the 6th? Its the same crap every time. Have Lisp warming up and as soon as 1 guy gets on, yank the bum.
So Minor is going to replace Lowe once JJ returns, right? Right?
AAG tried to ground into a DP, he really did, but the ball was just a bit too far up the middle.
Come on Constanza!
Is it even possible for Constanza to GIDP?
Okay Folk Hero, let’s do something here.
Drat.

Uggla caught a break there, that was a strike!
Well, there’s your ballgame. Let’s beat the Cubs tomorrow.
@59 – I died a little on the inside on that one.
Recapped.
