I want to go to the World Series. Against the Yankees. Not just because I want to go to the World Series, but because I’d want to see game three, when all the Yankee fans gasp in horror at what they see when Melky waddles out onto the field.
Game thread.

mike dunn has a very mike hampton-like build.
Generous hit call there.
calling the same pitch 5 times to Aubrey Huff is not going to end with a good result. Dunn can hit 97-98, dont throw all sliders
I’ll give Conrad credit for knocking that down.

“If we’d gotten Ludwick and he’d hit .211/.301/.311, would that have been Wren’s fault too?”
Well, no because Ludwick has a track record of being a good hitter, as opposed to all the scrubs Wren acquired. Are you really surprised Ankiel and Agony suck?
@500 Yep. He did not hit above 93 at all tonight, not that he needed to…but I can see it happening.
505- 120 strikeouts. Yeah, that sounds about right.
Hey, Jeremy, that’s not fair. A lot of those guys have a track record of being good hitters. In 2005.
#505 – 120K’s in 8IP = gotta be a record
Wouldnt it have been easier just to have Kimbrel start the inning?
That was a hit. It was a hard play for Conrad to make.
Tony, Gonzalez batted 5th on August 2 and September 29. So this is the third time all year.
#506, true, Jeremy, but there isn’t a hitter Terry Pendleton couldn’t get his hands on a ruin. Terry Pendleton, the Mike Bobo of Baseball coaches.
Bethany, don’t you need to get on your treadmill and burn off some calories?
hey, a correct call!
FINALLY, the right call.
Better throw by McCann
McCann is now 2-2 throwing out runners. OK, he should be.

One thing you can usually say about Bobby, he’s not scared to use the rookies.
BOOM. Well, Bobby called on three different guys, but… I guess it worked.
Time for another last AB win
A run, please.
Pretty please?
Shock me, boys.
Lincecum is redefining baseball!
cmon bravos
nice done kimbrel.
A run? What is that? Some foreign term.
If anyone’s got a lucky hat, put it on.
If anyone’s got a lucky drink, down it.
If anybody’s got a HR swing, break it out.
Me, I’m standing in the far corner of my living room. That’s my lucky spot.
Maybe this is the inning where all our rotten luck (dating back to ’91) starts to even out?
Now this is just an insult.
my lucky thing is not watching the game… maybe i’ll try it
HEYWARD WILL SAVE US!
Scratch that.
that wasnt a strike
It’s amazing just how painful something completely unsurprising can be.
Even Heyward’s been infected by the “swing at everything” virus. Maybe we really won’t score this series.
good grief Jason, that hit the plate
God, do they just decide to swing before the ball is thrown?
What a frustrating night.
were any of those pitches in the strike zone?
I see the swinging at ball 4 virus has infected Heyward as well.
Watching us swing at ball-four over and over is kind of infuriating, isn’t it?
Stu, does it make you feel better that if it was 0-0 right now, we could go another 9 innings without scoring a run? Oh wait, that’s tomorrow night.
hanging slider and Lee watches it…
shut these fans up, Derek.
It would’ve been nice if these guys had even tried… oh well, see you tomorrow.
TP really needs to be gone…
Disgusting.
Halladay would have K’d us 27 times
Lee watches strikes while Heyward swings at a ball in the dirt. Ugh.
Okay, that sucked. Let’s try to not do that tomorrow.
ok, give Lincecum some credit, but I expect more from Heyward and Lee in this series. Heyward swung at ball 4 twice, Lee did also, and took strike 3 to end the game
548…exactly.
Well 12:04, so I was off by 4 minutes.
Well we really only have four big league hitters on the team
Lee was terrible…but so was everyone else, really. McCann was pretty good, I guess.
sickening.
#553 – two of those were awful tonight…
OK, done.
Let’s steal one tomorrow.
Lincecum just said he knew where everything was going tonight and that he knew that 1 run would be enough
Cain tomorrow? yeah, that should go much better.
It’s nice for Bobby to have made it to the playoffs one last time, but this team does not belong there. Period.
another night, another cap tip. we do that often in braves country.
Sometimes you’ve got to credit the pitcher. Do the Reds suck because they got no-hit? No.
Get ’em tomorrow.
I really hope ATL sells out for Sunday, Bobby’s last game
559—Well, it ought to go better than the Sanchez start will.
Lincecum just said he knew where everything was going tonight and that he knew that 1 run would be enough
We knew that too.
I expected to lose this one, but the optimist in me thought i’d watch more than one baseball team take the field tonight. That Heyward strikeout was one of the worst Ks I’ve seen this year. Trade him to the Royals for the guy who replaced Ankiel in center.
Terrible. But the one run tonight was a terrible call at 2B on a non-stolen base.
I’d rather lose 6-0 to an incredible performance by Timmy L.
I wonder if Bobby will start Diaz and hit Agony fifth tomorrow.
HE WAS CAUGHT STEALING AT 2ND!!!!!
Are the Atlanta Braves entirely responsible for the statistical anomale known as the year of the pitcher?
564–They’ve actually hit Sanchez in the past. But I don’t recognize this team from the May-August incarnation, so who knows?
sombody must have been chopping with the wrong arm or something.
I’d like to see McLouth in LF tomorrow night instead of Diaz. Seriously.
AGony hitting fifth remains infuriatingly nonsensical.
I mean, what the hell, Bobby?
I just thought this team was tired…but wow. At least McCann showed up tonight. Ankiel and Diaz cannot be in the line-up tomorrow.
Recapped.
Why did anyone expect anything different? With this lineup? Linecum would have beaten a lot better teams than the Braves. It’s easy to say layoff those pitches but not so easy to do against someone like this.
574- he should have told Chipper or Prado to quit being pussies and get out there!
Can Moylan hit 5th tomorrow?
