I just don’t understand why Woodward has a job. He’s a completely unproductive major league hitter… and it’s not like he’s a defensive specialist. Sunday lineups kill me.

Adam, I agree. What’s the point of Bobby’s usual (give-up) Sunday lineup when the whole team has just had a week off?

Ouch! Not the kind of start that we needed….

I’ve given up on figuring out why Bobby thinks he has to start Chris Woodward. He didn’t think he had to start Pete Orr (this year, anyway). Extremely infuriating.

haven’t given any thought to rookie of the year. I assume that Salty just hasn’t and won’t play enough to merit consideration, Yunel though?…

Hunter Pence will probably win rookie of the year.
joshtothemaxx

Pence is absolutely raking. He’d have to mega-collapse for anyone else to sneak in there, except for maybe Hamilton and his comeback story.

42 games .349 average 13 hr 36 rbi’s .399 obp 8 sb.
pence 66 games .336 avg 11 hr 43 rbi’s .361 obp 7 sb.
i’ll say it will be a very close race.
braun has virtually put up the same #s as pence with 120 less ab’s.

on July 15, 2007 at 1:18 pm
They were harping on Renteria’s supposed inability to get runners home from third with less than two outs, then compared that criticism to complaining about Charlize Theron’s dress at the Academy Awards.
Or something.

It was yet another lame Chip Caray analogy comparing Edgar Renteria’s supposed poor ability to get a runner from third home with less than two outs to complaining about Charlize Theron’s dress at the Oscar’s. I hate Chip Caray so much.

Can you imagine if someone like Bonds said he wouldn’t return to SF last year if a new manager wasn’t brought in? I’d be a huge media story. Somehow Ichiro gets away with it…

The LaRoche thing was said on the radio. Apparently he messed with some of the Braves’ luggage a while back, so the joke they are supposedly pulling on him is they took his suit, soaked it in water, and then hung it in a freezer. They’re hanging it back in his locker during the 9th inning.
And damnit all. Why not let Buddy try to finish this out.
Well, it might be the Pirates, but only 28 short years ago they were running around winning the World Series.
Here is an interesting note on a pitcher that is often talked about acquiring. Matt Morris ERA has risen from 2.93 to 3.86 in his last 10 starts.
Hell stapler, it was ONLY 15 years ago that we scraped by them in the NLCS thanks to good ol’ Francisco Cabrera.
yeah.. Morris looked awful yesterday
Man, can we can it with the Morris talk already? I seriously doubt we’re getting him.
interesting LaRoche gag, i didn’t know he had it in him.
