Baseball Prospectus – Can Of Corn: Farm Scores
It’s a premium article. I just wanted to note that the Braves have the youngest average age of farm system players. It does seem like they have a lot of young players being pushed, plus (of course) they draft a lot of high schoolers.
This is a really good article. I’m not sure whether or not it goes far enough in talking about the quality of the system, though. The Braves really don’t need to do very much fine tuning to their player development system. They really just need to be patient, and figure out what’s happened to Andruw’s defense.
I did finally decide to lay down the cash for the subscription to BP. It’s a lot of money, but the content is worth it, and after meeting the guys at the Menlo Park Pizza Thing , I decided it was worth the $64.95 for two years.
