Mike Hampton knows how to keep the ball on the ground. He was on a roll during the first half of 2001 in Coors and was a “choice” gun-slinger in his Astro days. He’ll do just fine at Turner, trust me on this one.
Also, I’d rather have Tom back than Greg. Just look at this for a starting rotation:
1) Tom (2.96 era)
2) Mike (3.14 era in 2000 at Shea)
3) Kev (3.30 era)
4) Damian (3.06 era)
That’s not bad. Greg is just too much $$$$$ and I’d rather watch Golf than to see Tom in a Mets uniform. UGH!!!
