4/27/98: I’ve been away a little while. Anyway, the weekend was basically a disaster for the Braves, as Millwood and Maddux got beaten up by the Rockies. Neagle didn’t look so hot on Friday, either, and he’s looked bad most of the time this year. The Braves also sent Paul Byrd down, after pitching only a little in mopup duty, and brought up Damon Hollins. Hollins had been simply magnificent in limited play in AAA, and last year he destroyed left-handed pitching. He’s a better player, for the Braves’ uses, than Danny Bautista, and it’s not really very close. Hollins got a hit in his first at-bat.
