The GM meetings are right around the corner and AA continues to be very active in the early offseason. Unfortunately, the latest transaction (that won’t be official until the season starts) is that Joe Jimenez will likely be out for the 2025 season. Outside of Raisel Iglesias, Jimenez has been the 2nd best reliever on the team for 1.5 years.

I do believe that at least 4 of these guys in Whit Merrifield, Travis D’Arnaud, A.J. Minter, and Charlie Morton could be brought back. While I was skeptical about Minter in the early offseason, his injury and offseason surgery could sway AA to grab him on a 1-2 year deal with an option.

MLB Trade Rumors Makes Predictions for Top 50 Free Agents

These are always fun and very rarely accurate, but the crew over at MLBTR made predictions for the Top 50 MLB Free Agents for the 2025 season. Unfortunately, the Braves were not included on any of the top 29, but were connected to some interesting names.

  1. #30, Catcher Danny Jansen: This was likely a new prediction considering the Braves parted ways with Travis D’Arnaud. However, I don’t foresee this being a thing, especially at the 2/$20MM price.
  2. #37, SP Walker Buehler: This is really interesting. Buehler had a rough 2025 and was recovering from his 2nd TJS, but a 1 year prove it deal could be a fun little project for AA.
  3. #43, Ha-Seong Kim: Ok, this is even more interesting than the Buehler signing, but I have a hard time believing that Kim would leave the west coast.

Of the 3, Buehler seems the most likely, but Charlie Morton could get in the way and I wouldn’t be mad.
