Last night sure looked fun. However, when you change roles for the good of the school and teach outdoor classes for 5 hours a day, you don’t get to see the fun stuff that goes down past 8:00 because ya can’t keep your dadgum eyes open. Luckily, the great TFloyd came through with the recap and after reading, I entertained myself during my morning coffee watching the video recap. Tonight, we get a once every 5 game treat as Chris Sale, who likely is the frontrunner for the Cy Young, take the stage in Minnesota against David Festa, who should just go ahead and add the i in front of the e to make it a real party. Game time is 6:40 CT/7:40 ET.
What to do with Uncle Jesse?
On June 22nd, Jesse Chavez was carrying a 1.17 ERA. Fast forward to August 27th and it has ballooned to 3.40. Has age finally met its maker for Jesse? I don’t know the answer, but it’s obvious he’s struggling and I would like for Brian Snitker to get him in a few blowout games to see if there’s something still there, otherwise it’s time to see what Daysbel Hernandez can do.

Well, we finally got some help from the Astros vs. the Phils, thnx to a near no-hitter & a 3-HR day from Alvarez.
Win tonight & we’ll be 5 GB going into the 4-game series in Philly.
Festa as in “Uncle Festa? Or maybe as in “Marshall Dillon, Marshall Dillon?”
Soler’s awful defense does not make up for his occasional good at bat. Pitchers have to hate seeing him out there.
It does hurt pitch count when your right fielder plays a pop up into a ground rule double
The ball always seems to find you, but on the other end… Soler does have a HR tonight.
Luckily, Chris Sale is a bad man.
Uh, ok Soler. Way to earn your keep on D
Oh good…Luke is up. Snit really not trying to win this game.
This didn’t age well. LOL!
Take a chill pill, man. All you negative Nancy’s make it harder to stick around here.
Chris Sale is such a stud.
The Braves are 15-11 in August, after going 41-42 in May, June, and July. I’ll take it!
Finally, 13 games above .500. The team is starting to play to its potential. Pity we won’t be pitching Sale against the Phils, but I’m still looking forward to that series.
What a great piece!
