Well…there’s some good news and some bad news for the Braves these past 24 hours as Reynaldo Lopez has been sent to the IL, retroactive to August 2nd (which means he will only miss one start) and Bryce Elder was recalled to start tonight’s game (in a way, it’s both good news considering Lopez will likely get to make his next start). However, the best news of the day comes in the form of our CFer Michael Harris:

I hope it’s a short rehab as 50% Michael Harris II is better than 100% of the others.

This is Fun

When I was 21, Outkast released their album “Stankonia” which contain mega hits “So Fresh So Clean”, “Ms. Jackson”, and “B.O.B”, When anyone brings up hip hop out of Atlanta, they’re the first mentioned and Billboard named Big Boi and Andre 3000 the best rap group of all time. And tonight, we will get a full does of 1/2 of Outkast in the booth:

Braves Lineup

I’m sorry Luke Jackson. I am for real. Never meant to make your momma cry, but I have released you a million times.

Next Man Up

The Braves really have struggled to make ends meet in the OF. A friend of mine that I used to write with over at WalkOffWalk is now a mainstay over at Battery Power and he shared this little nugget yesterday:

So, if the current group doesn’t get the job done, is there someone the Braves could call up? The answer is no. There’s no noteworthy addition that could move the needle, so the Braves must get on those hands and knees and pray that this offense gets hot again. One thought has been to put Marcell Ozuna in left field and utilize both catcher in the lineup, which makes sense especially if the plan is to sub Ozuna out in late and close games for defense. We shall see if Brian Snitker goes off the cuff to deliver some late season magic.
