Reynaldo Lopez and his 0.72 ERA will take on Luis Castillo and his 4.18 ERA at 9:40 ET/8:40 CT. I just read that a horse statue in your house is believed to bring good fortune. Does it work on a Braves blog or in a dugout? Well, hopefully just an ugly horse will suffice.
Dear god, I worked way too long on that ugly horse.
That is the ugliest horse I’ve ever seen. Is it even real?
Gaudin is starting to suffer from Chip Disease when it comes to judging fly balls to the outfield.
There’s definitely something going on with the baseballs this year. That was an .860 xBA flyout. So many barreled outs this year.
Good chance that’s all the M’s need. The Atlanta offense is hitting like it’s October.
Two nights in a row we look disinterested and lost at the plate. Could be a six game losing streak by the time we get home.
Good thing is we’ve looked disinterested and lost at the plate for almost two weeks and we’ve won about two-thirds of our games over that period.
UPDATE: I just reread the above and it’s snarky but I’m not exactly clear just who I’m snarking. Anyway, you’re right that the offense has been moribund, but I guess what I’m saying is that in the first month of the season, this team has demonstrated the ability to win despite a comatose offense, as well as the ability to win despite an ineffective pitching staff. Not what you want, but I’m still confident in these guys on every evening, against every team.
Great work, Uncle Jesse!
Jarred, what a great catch!
Watching pitches outside the zone get called strikes all night … the robo-umps can’t arrive fast enough.
I can’t stay up for the west coast games… was quite surprised to see this morning that they intentionally walked Olson to get to Ozuna, and it worked! Gah.
Bats have gotta wake up. Starts gotta start playing like stars. Bottom of the order can’t carry the load forever.
