Happy Striderday, Braves country! Spencer Strider looks to finish the regular season with the Braves single-season strikeout record in game 161 for the Braves. He’s two behind John Smoltz’s mark and looks to join all the other record setters on the 2023 team.
In addition to the single-season K mark, Strider is seeking a his league-leading 20th win, too. He will be faced by Joan Adon (2-4, 6.42).
The Braves still need three home runs to tie, and four to set the all-time MLB record. Ozzie Albies needs to reach 35, which would make him the fifth Brave with 35. Let’s set some more records tonight, boys. Happy Striderday!

We’re at the game tonight. Almost didn’t come, but decided we want to be here when Strider sets the K record and the team sets the HR record
Not a stellar start so far
Thanks Christian, for all your work this season.
It’s been a pleasure. Thanks for having me around!
Saw one record, tfloyd. Get the HEs cranking!
Actually two with Ronald’s 73rd stolen base. But yeah, they need to start hitting it over the fence.
And right on cue Marcell gets us one dinger closer. And gives Strider a shot at win number 20
That’ll do.
Doggone, he just missed a second homer by about a foot.
That’s a career best 38 for Marcell. I really hope they can get two or three tomorrow. It would be a fitting end to the regular season. And I’d like Ronnie to create the 40/75 club for good measure!
I bet Dansby’s regretting his decision tonight…
Doubtful…he and Mal have all fall and winter to spend that bag in Chicago. 😂
Recapped.
