This is Bill Edwards Sports Editor Of The Palm Coast Tribune. Boyton Beach Florida. Has anyone noticed that Snitker has gotten Stupeder ever since Kyle Wright and Max Freid went on the Injured list? Just when we need him to get Smarter. Jesse Chavez was dealing and Thrown only 43 pitces. But then he Brings in Tonkin who gives up 5 runs. When Joe Jimenez pitched one and two thirds innings and struck out 4 and was dominate. Matt Olson put the Braves ahead with a 2 Run homer but the Braves did not Demonstrate a committment to winning. Especially Orlando Arcia who made an Error. It would behoof Snitker to Call a Team meating to give a sense of Urgency. Kirby Yates is another who should Receive some additional training. If Snitker is smart. This is Bill Edwards Sports Editor Of The Palm Coast Tribune. Boyton Beach Florida.
The Braves drop to 28 – 17 and have a 4.5 game lead in the NL East over the Marlins. Jared Shuster and George Kirby face off at 1:35 Sunday in the rubber game of the series.
That was great, and thank you for the laugh.
This is Bill again. It’s not only Snitker. Don’t forget Anthromorphisis who keeps forgetting to bring up VW Scirocco because all the Greeks worship Achilles.
Thanks, Rusty,
Too many problems to count, really.
Thanks for the great recap, Rusty.
I think I have seen enough Braves bullpen games for this season. Gotta find a different solution and “just go” with Schuster, Dodd, eventually Soroka and Smith-Shawver.
Grissom, Ozuna (without his salary), Shuster/Dodd for Giolito? Add Chavez, so we can claim him back in a few weeks. Make it happen, AA.
I despise Bullpen games, i would rather sign an independent league dude to come in and pitch 3 innings and give up 7 runs, we are destroying the BP arms this way.
It amazes me how many folks know more about baseball than Snit and AA. Braves have only a 4-8 game lead in the division. Time to fire ’em all… that should fix it, right?
When I was younger, imaginary GM me fired Eddie Haas 3 times a week, usually in the middle of a game. Just call down to the dugout and “Eddie, pack your stuff.” I have a little more perspective now, but we have some passionate fans who are invested in every game, and they get frustrated.
One thing Eddie and Snit have in common though, is that nobody can manage if you don’t have players. This bullpen thing is going to bite us if we don’t get healthy or have someone step up.
It’s Bobby Cox’s birthday. He got fired once.
I can’t think of any way to research this, but I think the only managers who have never been fired are Walter Alston, Connie Mack, Tommy Lasorda, Brian Snitker, and the dozen or so other current managers whose first managerial job this is. (I am sure there others… but I have no idea how to find them.)
I actually think Snit and AA have done and are doing a phenomenal job. Would not want any other GM or probably manager than those two.
But the bullpen thing has not been working.
Eddie, if you’re reading, please forgive me. But man, quit bunting runners over to 3rd.
This put a smile on my face despite the loss. Thanks.
I knew it was Rusty all along.
Yeah, pretty good impersonation but too lucid to be Bill
One cannot top Bill Edwards.
As someone who is a BIG Bill Edwards fan, I am UPPALLED by this from long-time BRAVES JOURNALER RUSTY S. He should KNOW that he CANNOT be BILL EDWARDS and will NEVER!!!! BE BILL EDWARDS.

LOL
I think the real point is there nothing wrong with trying to improve on a situation that’s not working. Yeah the team is winning but over the long haul these BP games count as loses and are putting a strain on our entire pitching staff,
Agreed. It’s tough to manage when 2 of your top 3 starters are out. It would be good to add another starter; I don’t know if the results would be any better that 5th day, but it should help the bullpen the other 4 days. Assuming the guy called up does well enough that the 5th day doesn’t turn into a bullpen game anyway.
The other problem is that unlike other seasons, our bullpen as currently performing is not good enough to throw a bullpen game. Relievers are funny though; we’ve had total bullpen slumps before and then a month later they turn it all around.
MH2 giving off those Heyward vibes. Hopefully it’s just temporary.
Game thread is up.
