Agree/Disagree? Choke or no? No hesitation calling the former for these last two baseball seasons. The 2019 collapse in games 4 and 5 were so bad they were almost comical to watch after your tears were wrung dry. And JonathanF assures us that the vastly overrated Rain Man’s debacle in Game 4 was only the eighth worse choke in Braves history . Good lord, mercy. F0lty’s game 5 first innings has never been equaled nor ever will be.
And then there’s the non-chokers that opposed us this year, in particular an unknown, diminutive South Korean gentleman whose name escapes me for the moment. He and people like him kindly provide the yardstick by which any future aspirations we might still harbor flicker weakly, just alive.
He showed in the last two games he pitched this season what it was all about. Down 3 games to one in game 4 he shredded our offense when he came on and away we went home. Onto the WS then and the deciding game 5. The Rays were coming on, late, the awful Mister Bauer had to be removed – (awful as in obnoxious, you will remember him strutting onto the field under a neutral dark blue cap immediately after the final out reminding everyone he was now available).
So our Korean friend was brought on to get the final three outs in what was still anyone’s game. How he got them is still the stuff of dreams, and nightmares, for me and my Atlanta roots. Three identical soft rollers to short stop. I kid you not, non choke.
A very merry Christmas to all and to one in particular – coop, you are immensely strong, you put us to shame. God bless.
Cliff-what a wonderful dose of Christmas cheer. So many good memories in your twelve days.
Best of holidays to all here in this bar (and especially to coop, who is my role model for a gracious response to all life has to offer)
A belated Hanukkah sameach, a prospective Happy New Year, a current Merry Christmas, happy Kwanzaa, and joyous Solstice. May your meat be hot, may your beer be cold, and may the hair on your feet never fall off.
Happy Holidays everyone! And to each of us, a healthy and happy 2021.

Happy Festivus?
Bah. Humbug. Except to everyone here.
Happy Holidays, my friends. I’ve been pretty disconnected lately as I’ve tried to soak up this special time with my two young ones. Hope the New Year brings vaccines for all & a Braves Journal trip to Truist Park! 😊❤️
Here’s a baseball quiz from The New York Times to keep your holiday spirits bright.
