Julio Teheran finally showed up at SunTrust Park, and pitched the Braves to a 5-2 win over Colorado. Jome Julio had lost 9 straight home park decisions, a streak that was one longer than Shelby Miller‘s 2015 and Craig McMurtry‘s 1984 streaks. And that is territory no one wants to be in. Trust me, I saw most of McMurtry’s ’84 season. Ugh.

Teheran threw 7 1/3 innings, giving up only 2 runs on 5 hits, including a 3rd inning RBI single to Charlie Blackmon and a 7th inning home run to Mark Reynolds. He was supported by Matt Kemp‘s two run dinger in the bottom of the first and Kurt Suzuki‘s lead off homer in the second. Ender Inciarte added a RBI grounder and Brandon Phillips a RBI single in the second, and from there Teheran cruised.

Ozzie Albies had two hits and Dansby Swanson walked twice to continue their resurgences at the plate.

Sam Freeman and Arodys Vizcaino closed out the last inning and 2/3 for the pen. Sean Newcomb goes tonight for Atlanta against Kyle Freeland.

Natspos delenda est.
