As for last night’s game in Fort Bragg, I enjoyed it. My dad and I had a great time watching the game. He served in the military, and so if perhaps it was pander-y, he enjoyed what came of the pandering.
Apparently MLB is going to continue this concept, which I think is a great one: Every year, take MLB to places where it isn’t, with pop-up stadiums and official game in the summertime. I hope this is a more domestic affair, in the US, Canada and Caribbean. I am not a fan of the games on the other side of the planet, mainly because they royally screw with the schedule.

With the game mostly out of reach, manager Curly took the opportunity to take a look at a number of bullpen arms, extending the game’s length by at least half an hour. Tons of food & bev options near the stadium.
And dunno if it’s your thing, but the Andy Warhol Museum is a very short walk from PNC & it’s really cool.
IMO, Pittsburgh & San Francisco have the 2 coolest “newer” stadiums. Hard to beat the view from your seats on those places.

I reckon this will all work itself out, but it’s pretty depressing when Joel De La Cruz and Lucas Harrell are 2/5 of your starting rotation after you traded half of your team for starting pitching prospects. Oh well, at least we have our freedom. #trusttheprocess
I would have bet you a small fortunate that Joel De La Cruz was destined for big league success. Everything in his career pedigree had Major League Baseball Starting Pitcher written all over him. But whaddayaknow, that’s why they have to play the games.
@14 oldtimer . . . Great food at Meat & Potatoes and The Fish Grotto (which also has a beautiful view from Mt. Washington). If you go to the Grotto, take the Duquense Incline for a unique trip. Kayak tours along the three rivers are also amazing, if you’re up for them. Wife and I went to a game two years ago, and Manny Sanguillen’s BBQ was a treat, and Manny himself was there shaking hands. Enjoy!

The Mattress Factory is awesome. It’s an art museum that exclusively has full-room installations. So is the Andy Warhol Museum, which was really the first time that I came to love Warhol as an artist.
If you’re looking for a brewpub, though, the Church Brew Works is also really great.
