Not much to say here. Slim Sallee would finish 5th in the NL in ERA at 2.10, but would only have an 18-17 record.

LaRoche apparently has a “serious” form of ADD… had to get a waiver from MLB to be allowed to take whatever medication he is taking for it. I forgot the name of the med, just that it’s on the MLB banned list.
Hopefully they replay it soon.

The Outside The Lines segment was dedicated to LaRoche and his Ritalin medication, which contains a banned substance…there was some talk about how he’s torn it up since taking the medication and some debate as to whether he should be allowed to take it. They also talked about the infamous play earlier this season where Nick Johnson beat him to the bag.
I’m watching the Falcons/Bucs game, and Lord is Chris Simms bad. This is the stage where Brown used to get Major Applewhite warming up.

hanley fouled a ball off the inside of his toe and they came out to check on him for a second while he hobbled around… he’s fine though

Thanks. How did they score on a sac fly to Marcus? That doesn’t sound right…

Scoring on a sac fly to Marcus?… Actually, that’s par for the Braves this season.
Miranda
on September 17, 2006 at 1:14 pm
well…. he was going out… they got a good jump… throw was a bit up the line… it was pretty close but if the throw had not been up the line he would’ve been out
Marcus caught the ball running towards the foul line in shallow right field. The runner tagged, and marcus made a weak throw up the 3rd base line. A weak throw home would have nailed the runner.

Are the Marlines’ pitcher good or the Braves’ hitting bad?
The Braves make me feel undefined feelings whenever they meet the Marlines. Huh?

Anyway 3:1 The Braves, it’s OK 🙂

Nice outing by Hudson today: 7 inn. 3 hits, 1 run. It sure would have been nice to have this type of preformance be the norm for him, instead of the exception. Of course, he always seems to pitch better on short rest, for some reason.
Yates is really incredible. We should keep him next year to throw batting practice.

And just like that, we lose the lead. I’m so glad Yates has become our 8th inning man, I don’t know where we’d be without him [sarcasm, in case you didn’t catch it].
I wish I had the video of Dave Justice hitting a homerun off Rob Dibble in 3-Rivers late in 1991. My favorite Justice homerun I think.

So, the first four guys just need to get on base, then Orr will have to hit a five-run homer. It’s as possible as it is likely.

Wow… That almost made everything today worthwhile.
Neither do I.
since I have no life… I watched game 7 of the ’92 NLCS last night!
For anyone curious, LaRoche is on Outside The Lines this morning… Anyone who thought he had mental problems… you’re right.
Really? How so, Kerry?
1914 Update:
Boston Braves 77-55 (–)
NY Giants 74-59 (3.5 GB)
Chicago Cubs 72-64 (7)
St. Louis Cardinals 71-64 (7.5)
Philadelphia Phillies 64-71 (14.5)
Pittsburgh Pirates 62-71 (15.5)
Brooklyn Robins 59-74 (18.5)
Cincinnati Reds 56-77 (21.5)
Today’s Game:

Braves 100 200 02x – 5 9 1 WP- Rudolph

Kali : Relief Pitching :: Chris Simms : Quarterbacking
caught a nap in the 8th. *Sigh*
Miami Dolphins : Offense
Matt Koenen : Placekicking
a game we should’ve won… like so many this year
Chad Paronto : Opposing Offenses :: Gasoline : Fire.
Paronto really really wants that BP job, Mac.
Wow, just… wow. I left to ask someone a Latin question and came back to find this. I should have just stayed with the Latin.

Un-freaking-believable.
What are the chances?
I still say less likely than Orr hitting a 5 run homerun.
WOW… I can’t believe I just saw that last inning!!!
