It seems like you are trying to say something, but I just can’t put my finger on it…
Who manages?
Russ Nixon.
Leo Mazzone. Duh! 😉
Nah, Jimy Williams.
I see Pena is catching tonight…
it’s Giles, Renty, Chipper, Andruw, Roche, Francoeur, Langy, Pena, and Sosa
Just thought I’d introduce myself. My name’s David..and I’ve been following this site for a couple of months now and I’m really enjoying it.
I’m 23..a huge Braves fan…been following them since ’88. I was about 6 years old at the time, and my grandparents introduced me to T.B.S. and the Braves. The team had an “Indian” mascot and being 6 to 7 years old at the time…you can imagine that the Indian guy shooting the cannon really made my day. Ah well..the rest is history as they say.
Ow..I’m from Curacao…born and raised..still living there..so yeah,i’m very proud of what Andruw has been accomplashing throughout the years. I’m currently going to the University…studying computers..websites..the internet and that kind of stuff…
So yeah, enough about me. I’m lookin forward to posting here..seems like a great place. Go braves..
I miss Gant.
Boy, do I miss Raffy’s defense…
I miss Galarraga, myself. I remember screaming when I found out we’d signed him, and how he made those of us interested in “serious” analysis look like idiots.
I miss having a 1B who scares opposing pitchers.
Was Adam’s hit as close to the wall as Gameday said? You can never really trust them…
Good to have you, Davey.
Rissa, the ball hit by Adam was short of the warning track. That’s Adam’s power without the wind from Chicago. To be fair, he is having a pretty good May.
I didn’t know Langy was hurting.
Boy, I REALLY MISS FURCAL’S DEFENCE!!!
Oh yeah Mac, if you are starting a trading rumor, I will include Williamson on the list.
Here is the official rumor:
Braves get
Jason Bay
Damaso Marte
Pirates get
Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Ryan Langerhans or Kelly Johnson
Elvis Andrus
Chuck James
Anthony Lerew
Chris Reitsma (for salary balance)
This rumor must be from Smitty’s barber…
Looks like we’re getting the good Sosa tonight. I’m always waiting for that one blowup inning, but so far, so good.
Let’s get some runs, boys.
We usually don’t get Turner South down here..or Fox Sports South..so,I’m just following this on Yahoo’s game channel.
From what I’m readin..Sosa’s doing a pretty decent job up till now.
Is there any way to find out which Braves position player has made the most number of outs to end innings this season? I’d also be curious to know who did so with men on base. If such a stat exists… cool.
that doorbell sound is really annoying.
Oh great. The Evil Sosa has arrived.
ububba, your wait is over.
Is it just me, or does Sosa give up a homer in EVERY SINGLE START?
That’s the Adam I want to see. Hitting more to the other way makes him a much better hitter.
LaRoche!!
roachie!!!!
and is it just me or is the field mic louder than normal tonight?
He’s “only” given up homers in six of his nine starts. The other three were has last one in San Diego, and his first two.
Splits for runners on base are easy to find. I don’t think you can come up with “ending the inning” but you can get splits for w/2 outs.
It is still a scene unfamiliar ’cause Normar is wearing a Dodger Blue.
Aangenaam kennis te maken, Davey:-)
as much as i dont want him to (because i dont want to give him any credit), adam laroche might end the season with 30 hrs and 100 rbi’s.
If Adam can end the season with his May average numbers, I would be very happy with him: .278, .384, .528
Yeah, statistically at least, LaRoche has been a much more productive hitter than Andruw this month. But my guess is that’s just an anomaly.
If Adam hits all year as he’s hit in May, he’d be one of the better hitting first basemen in baseball.
Yeah, Rob. That’s why I would be very happy with him!
Oh and thanks Mac…
chippers swing looks weak from the left side
This is exactly what drive me crazy about LaRoche, he will do this for a month and then jump off a cliff. He is wildly inconsistent.
Yeah, Josh, Adam has been very consistent in that regard…consistently inconsistent.
Although I would like to see him continue for a little longer until Smitty’s barber can work out a trade using him as bait.
Yeah, Rathbun, why do people take losing the ALCS so seriously and they never talk about winning the league title with Pulaski? Sheesh.
How close did Langy come to an inside the parker? I’m listening on MLB.com.
Thank goodness it’s Pena catching tonight…McCann and Pratt will never run that fast…
Didn’t matter. Way to go, Pena.
Let’s see if we can squeeze one more inning out of Sosa. He’s up to 96 pitches & I’m in favor of the short leash, like one hard-hit ball…
My guess is that Bobby will have a quick hook with Sosa in this inning.
Torborg, it has been well known that Cruz can’t handle breaking pitches. Do your research.
Torborg, I would think the Braves know Furcal’s strengths and weaknesses better than any other organization…
I love that guy keeps screaming DUI…
Great job Jorge. It’s a good start from him tonight.
Hell of an effort from Sosa. Seven solid innings. I think he’s officially back.
7 ip and 3 runs…I’ll take that any day from Sosa.
Chipper can’t catch those high fastball anymore………………….
I’d rather have this Sosa on a consistent basis than Houdini from last year. He pitched a solid game and did not have to rely on smoke and mirrors.
That rundown was like watching planes trying to land at LaGuardia. A bunch of circling, delays, and confusion.
Man, this sucks big time……………….
who’s Tyler Yates?
The Tyler Yates that the Mets don’t want…called up for Cormier.
I have to cpmpliment Sosa as well..he pitched a solid solid game. Just wishes the offense could have come through (Jones Boys?????) and given him a much deserved shot at a win.
Is Yates any good?
Who knows?! Somewhere between Moylan and Paronto I guess…that’s to our GM, the Braves need to keep trying out different pitchers through the season…
…thank you Remlinger.
And what’s wrong with Cormier besides the fact that his last few outings have NOT been good.
F—–g Remlinger…I can’t believe we are going to lose this game. I know everyone loves him but I am sick of him.
It is easy to blame Remlinger, but after our last half inning, this seems almost inevitable….
Alex, the kid needs more consistent innings and Bobby isn’t going to give him that. It’s a good move to sort out his problem. I am sure we will see Cormier again in a month or two.
This is what Remlinger is: He gets out of some gnarly jams, then he gives it up. It’s certainly not 2002 anymore…
I just wish McBride will get consistent enough which Bobby will use him ahead of Remlinger…
…Yates fastball looks very straight to me…
ugh. this is pathetic.
…great job Bobby. Nice to throw the kid into trouble on his first outing. That’s a definite confident builder.
Yates: so far I am glad that Stockman (who can get strikeouts) is safe at Richmond…
What?! Adam trying to bunt?! Are you kidding me?!
ok, Frenchy is officially in slump again.
Well..Yahoo’s thing is saying that Jeff Francoeur’s single scored Aybar for the Dodgers in the top of the 8th.. Akward..
Pissed me off, Davey. Yahoo had Sosa retiring Furcal before Remlinger came in, and that threw everything off.
Yates sucks.
shut the hell up, torborg. every single one of those pitches was up and out over the plate. moron.
finally home. I’m officially jealous of the dodgers–they’re the team I hoped we would be. But inept managing and a clueless GM have left us where we are, and we look like little girls compared to the dodgers.
Given that the Dodgers are outplaying the Braves so far, has anyone else noticed that LA is getting a ton of lucky breaks in the first two games? I think they’ve hit grounders into/through the SS hole about a dozen times so far…
That, and once Chipper and Andruw couldn’t get it done in the 8th, it was a virtual certainty that our flavor-of-the-week reliever would blow the game.
UGH. Awful series so far, demoralizing on many levels. I think this is karmic retribution for our charmed sweep of the Cubs.
Is it me..or can’t we hold opponents under 8 runs anymore..
well we had a chance, davey, but that would have required a bullpen.
another hit for betemit. I’m glad he doesn’t play everyday.
another strikeout for marcus. i’m glad he’s our leadoff hitter.
I really don’t mean to sound so negative–this team just depresses me.
A bullpen..I remember we used to have one of those.
L.A. scored 8 runs..and Reitsma didnt even pitch..
Arhh..I want to fight with Saito. I want to throw fisticufs
brad,
as much as I hate to say it, this just isn’t a very good team with little prospects of improvement.
player of the game: the dodgers GM, who took the time this offseason to improve his team, providing them with a legitimate leadoff hitter, all-star first baseman, actual closer, and great bullpen.
That would constitute actually spending money, i.e to which Time-Warner is allergic.
