What I love about John is that he never suggested something like moving Chipper to leftfield or KJ being the BEST defensive leftfielder in the league…I am really getting tired of BA…
These days it’s more like BS. (Cheap, but it had to be said.)

By the way, Mac;
Have you noticed that the ending of that famous poem by Thayer: “McSluggo at the Bat” would probably go:
And now the pitcher holds the ball,
And now he let’s it fly,
His manager waves four fingers,
His catcher stands and sighs;
Oh, somewhere in this fabled land,
The home fans stand and shout,
But there is no joy in Peachtree,
McSluggo walked,and the next kid grounded out!

David Gassko from Primer and the Hardball Times is the one responsible for the Johnson thing…BA would be the last pub to say that.
Also BPs the one really railing on the Chipper/OF thing. One BA writer, Callis, simple mentioned offhand that he thinks the Braves would be better off w Chipper in LF. i totally disagree but its not the consistant crap that BPs been pushing
It’s a recap of the guys he listed as the organization’s top prospects before the season started. Devine and Jones hadn’t been drafted before the season.

“Devine and Jones hadn’t been drafted before the season.”
Brandon Jones had-he was an 03 draft and follow that signed and started playing in June 04- and was earning his athletic self some buzz but wasn’t anything like a top 20 guy, at leasnt not in an org as deep as the Braves.
But yeah this is the top 20 from last year yall (hence Francouer/McCann/Lang/KJ ect on the list…NOT his 05 top 20
Oh, oops. Perhaps I was thinking of Beau Jones? Or perhaps I’m just a moron.

Okay guys. It’s time to stop all of this name calling. Let’s make this a positive site and stop calling ourselves morons. I believe that terminology should be “mentally challenged”.

Argh. Why do people suggest trading a good cheap second baseman for two or three fungible relievers? Marcus should not be dealt with the prospect of losing Furcal on the horizon. Especially not for relievers.

2 relievers for an All-Star 2B that’s probably the 2nd best hitter on the team and still pretty young and cheap? Ack! We can get more than relievers (albeit good relievers) for Marcus Giles.
That trade sounds like overreacting to the bullpen problems this year. I know the pen needs help, but that’s too much to give up.

Lets say goodbye to Furcal, even now the Royals have entered the race. They are saying Furcal is seeking 5yr/$50mil..
