I am sick of mediocre Mendoza like catchers hitting homeruns. Absurd!

Who the f*** is Paul Chavez? And will the Braves EVER execute? Houston hits two HR, the Braves get NOTHING out of anyone but Andruw. Chipper, Estrada, Drew – forget it!

Apparently. What did I say yesterday about those Houston homeruns? 6 in 2 games. And the Braves are currently 0-11 with RISP. I’ve noticed that J.D Drew has been in somewhat of a slump that started well before the postseason. Also, if Chipper is too hurt to bat properly then he doesn’t need to play. If he is not swinging at whack shit then he is rolling over the ball on just about every AB with weak grounders as a result. That is not acceptable. Lets face it: Oswalt is pitching well but he’s not exactly blowing people away and the Braves are obviously seeing the ball. See Ball, Hit Ball Very Very Far! I think Bobby needs to have a “Come to Jesus” meeting. I’m not throwing in the towel — believe me, I of all people know that the Braves are capable of some amazing shit — but this “no offense” thing has become a trend over the last 3 to 4 years in the NLDS and there has got to be a reason. At least Hampton is having a great game so far (except for the 2 homeruns).

Andruw just flew out with 2 on. Game over.

I just can’t take it anymore, mike hampton is taking better cuts then JD Drew, chipper looks disinterested as usual, and WILL SOMEBODY GET A FRICKING HIT WITH RISP. This is just embarrassing baseball. Even the rookies look disinterested. I guess chipper has rubbed off on everybody.
Chipper’s hurt; lay off him… Oh, man, that hurt, too. But Furcal has to try that there. Bad luck.

You have got to be kidding me. I swear, the Braves get the momentum and things just don’t go their way. How does furcal not beat lidge to home. Garner is a duche bag, that delay was crap. Once again though drew doesn’t come close to making contact. HOW DOES FURCAL NOT SCORE THERE?

Jesus. If you’re going to get thrown out by ten feet, at least run into Lidge or step on his glove or something.

I have noticed the same thing with chipper, so no, he looks disinterested, like he usually does, how can you disagree with that, hurt or not. Come on.

The foul bunt was a break for us, so it’s not like we didn’t get a second chance there. I liked the squeeze play there–any fair bunt would have scored Furcal…

Chipper is hurt. Period. If you’re going to bat him then put him elsewhere in the batting order. I don’t think for one second that Chipper is disinterested but it looks as if he cannot fulfill his role in the batting order presently. We’ll see. Could be totally unrelated to his injury.
Furcal should have hammered Lidge. This is not the regular season or the All-Star game (ala Peter Rose); this is life and death and if Lidge does not want to concede the run then he needs to pay the price.
Something is happening…Go Braves!!!!

Can Charles Thomas get a hit in a meaningful situation? Sure doesn’t look like it.

Did Cox put Franco in at 1B even though he didn’t bat in the eighth? Bad move, even if Smoltz did get a hit to lead off the ninth…

JD Drew has looked awful. Has he seen a slider before?
Colin

JD is apparently playing the role of Gary Sheffield this postseason.
And right now, let’s hoep Smoltz isn’t playing the role of Joe Nathan
14 baserunners, 2 runs so far. Ouch.

Running back toward home plate to try to avoid a bunt tag-out? Lame!

They pinch ran for Laroche, so he had to put Julio in at first.

I remember when Smoltz came to the Braves. In fact, he is my favorite pitcher of all time and tonight proves it. If his performance does not inspire the team then nothing will.

He shouldn’t have run for LaRoche. There was no force in order, and he wasn’t the tying or go-ahead run. Wound up losing two players for that.
Um, Mac. If it was reverse psych you were going for, well, it worked.
SWEET!

I agree, but that’s not what the post I was responding to said.
Is THIS what a disinterested player looks like?
