Did you know that one of baseball’s oldest records was in danger? No, not the hits record, another one? Neither did I, until Bob Rathbun informed us that D’Angelo Jimenez has hit 61 doubles. The record’s 67.
Rathbun looked at Jimenez’s career stats headed into the season; he had 60 doubles coming into the year.
I think its time to really start worrying about Smoltz now. :/
You know, anyone can confuse career stats with season stats. It’s such an understandable mistake. After all, D’Angelo could break the doubles record if he gets really hot.
