I don’t see why they bothered. 34 year old pitcher with an ERA of 4.13 — in Dodger Stadium, yet — this season and a 4.92 career ERA.

Brad has an entry about this as well. Merricks didn’t really figure into the Braves plans.

Martine has a 6.53 ERA on teh road, vs. 2.89 at Chavez Ravine. according to Yahoo, lefties ar ehitting .349 off him. Sam Mcconnell, whom he’ll replace, was getting hit even harder by lefties, .435.

I hope there’s a lot of cash coming our way. I’m a bit confused by this move. Who’s going to be sent down? I hope his name starts with a G and ends with rybowsi…yeah right.
