Final lines for each

Jaret Wright: 1 2/3 IP, 4 H, 5 BB, 5 R.
Juan Cruz: 2 1/3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 R.

“Jeez, Juan, if we didn’t have these guys worse than you in the starting rotation, we’d never have a chance to use you in long relief when we’re down five runs!”

  1. In fairness to Wright, his first two starts were pretty good. His defense let him down a bit in start #2, and he was fantastic in his first start. I don’t have a problem with WRight getting a bit more of a look.

Now if only we could pawn Hampton off on somebody….

  2. Game called before five full innings due to rain. What a gyp…well, another sweep of the champs and we’d be back in first.

Anyone wanna give odds on that?

  3. Looks like Cincy came by this one the cheap way. You cut it the lead to two runs only to have the final 5 innings cancelled on you? This is totally the fault of the unbalanced schedule. Had the Braves a chance to go back to Cincy later in the season, this game would have been called a rainout before it started and we could have seen who actually deserved to win the game in a doubleheader.

I’ll remember this one if the Braves lose the division by one game. The unbalanced schedule blows!
