Just a brief Braves-related squib:
HOT CORNER: The Atlanta Braves have expressed interest in Alfonzo. Former Rockies third baseman Vinny Castilla, an expansion draft pick from the Braves, rejoined Atlanta a year ago and has a year remaining on his contract, but the Braves have been offering Castilla in trade packages.
As in, “If you want Marcus Giles, you have to take Vinny Castilla too.”
pretty sad that they couldn’t unload him on Tampa Bay, as the mets just did Ordonez. Of course, even Chuck Lamar was smart enoug to know Vinny had no value.
