5/12/98: The Braves continue to be red-hot, winning their last three games and setting a franchise record last night by homering in 23 straight games. The record was broken on Andruw Jones’ first-inning three-run homer. He later homered again, giving him eight for the season. He’s also gotten his batting average over .220, all the way to .227. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but considering the way he started it is. He’s hit .283 since his 4-for-40 start. With his power and defense, if he hits .220 you can keep him in the lineup, and if he hits .250 he’s a good player. If he hits .280, he’s a star.
