Boy, Matt Olson sure is something right now
Yesterday, the Braves let the Nationals know that there was no Opening Day victory hangover and jacked 2 dingers in the 1st two ABs of the game and that was all that Spencer Strider needed to defeat the Nationals, who are looking more like a AAAteam than an MLB team. Matt Olson added another HR and Marcell Ozuna also contributed with his own. Overall, the Braves scored 7 times, the Nats once and that spells victory. Overall, the team collected 11 hits with Orlando Arcia leading the charge with 3 hits.
Spencer Strider was doing his thing, too, and that thing is making people look foolish and killing their pride. 6 people got on base against Strider, but none scored, and his finished 6 innings with 9Ks and 3BBs. If he can stay healthy, he’s going to be the Braves version of DeGrom and that’s so awesome. Nick Anderson, Joe Jimenez, and Tyler Yates followed Strider, and only Yates gave up a run.
Sunday Game Thread
It’s a big day for the Braves and a bigger day for Jared Shuster who makes his MLB debut. I hope he shows that same promise that was on display in spring. Here’s how the Braves will line up:
While I’d hoped that Sam Hilliard or Kevin Pillar would get a taste in LF sometime this series, one can’t argue with results and the results are coming in. Let’s get it, boys!

Your big offseason acquisition hitting eighth in his second game with the organization is certainly a choice you can make.
